I once had a dog... he wasn't very well trained, couldn't hunt worth poop... after getting a bath, had a bad habit of finding something horrible smelling to roll in, and sometimes might swipe something from the dinner table. He was an almost useless excuse for a Lassie....Lad..Rin tin tin or other canine stars. No, he couldn't hunt. He didn't always smell good, and would often crowd me on the sofa. But as a young kid in the 50's and 60's... that awesome beast was the best friend I ever had! When I was a kid we got a 2 year old cocker spaniel. A lovely dog but it was too energetic for us. It was a hunting dog. After a couple of years my dad decided to give her to his cousin, a farmer. It broke my heart but I saw for myself how much better her life had become.
