I've been on 13 cruises and there's one thing I learned, NEVER let ANYTHING on a cruise stress you out. Especially things that don't effect you directly. You spend too much time doing research for your cruise and budgeting for your cruise. The ship will ALWAYS have enough food. There will ALWAYS be places to sit. Shrug off the stupid stuff people do. You probably deal with stupid people every day like I do. Go ENJOY your cruise. Come home with great memories and NOT complaints! And come home wanting to take another cruise...

I agree with everything except there will always be places to sit...our last trip on the Navigator...seats were kust not available...II could find a seat in main dining, because the staff seats you...in my room...in the theater....sometimes the libreary...and outside on deck 4 most of the time....but that was it....the buffet had no seating.2 of the 4 times I went.. I had to eat in my room once...and ended up there a lot more then usual...luckily we had a balcony..but still I like to enjoy the music.....never had a cruise like that...usually everyone is on the pool decks with their towels and I have plenty of spots to land...I am a humming bird not a camper...I flit around and land here and there...never stay one place too long...so I really feel it when people are saving seats and not leaving ANY....but I am odd...I even prefer the smaller ships...that is how odd I am...lol...

My family has simple crusing rules. 1. At a show... Each family member can save a max of two seats if alone or one each if more then one person getting there early. 20 minutes before show time if the person we are saving the seat for has not come that seat is no longer saved. If you come after that time you sit where you can. Once the lights go out...if there is not a seat right at the back...either stand or leave...NO WALKING IN FRONT OF PEOPLE ONCE THE LIGHTS are out...and SHUTUP, we will talk later....If the door is closed DON'T YOU DEAR OPEN IT...we will meet you later. We usually eat early then go right to the first show...Which means we are usually there an hour before the show starts...we relax talk to other passengers and DRINK...hello bar serves right there. 2. The pool deck. We only have seats for people who are either in the pool or in the seats AND someone better be in one of the seats...only enough seats for the adults...EVERYONE under 18 shares ONE seat. Kids almost never sit for long and three of them easily sit in one seat at the same time...when we are done in the pool...we are done with the seats...period...and NO eating by the pool...gross 3. Hot tub...no seat for you...you are sitting in the HOT TUB!....AND put your crap in the cubbies...this is not your bedroom ...no one wants to trip over your stuff...yes I have a teenager, how did you know? 4. The buffet...avoid it at all cost...but when needed...put your silverware and crap at the table THEN get your food...no one wants to be hit by your backpack AND you are not coordinated enough to juggle your silverware AND handle the tongs..DON'T TOUCH the FOOD!...that is just gross....Wait for the person in front of you...reaching over or around someone trying to get food is a recipe for dropped food...You are NOT going to starve and the food will be there or be replaced in a second...It is a cruise...they will NOT run oit of food... 5. Thank and praise the crew for EVERY THING...these people spend months away from their children to make our vacation amazing...APPRECIATE their sacrifice...and NEVER yell at them...don't complain ..just tell them your situation and expect them to do what they can to help you....If they can't help you...they can't...yelling at them won't give them the power to sudenly fix your situation.... 6. Do whatever the crew tell you. sign says don't go here...DON'T go there...Whatever direction they give.. FOLLOW IT and THEN wonder why...It could be the difference between walking off the ship and being carried off in a bag...or just disappearing into the ocean...The sea is cruel and dangerous...and does NOT give a rats butt about you and your entitlement...Crew is there to keep you safe...respect that. 7. Don't climb on ANYTHING except the rock wall and only there when the crew is there helping you....see rule 6...I mean it you will never JUST fall of a ship...you climb and THEN fall off the ship...unless you are VERY VERY tall...then maybe...not kidding those railings are high... 8. The last and hardest rule...don't let the other passengers ruin your vacation...the rude ones, gross ones...the stupid ones...they are going to be there...just ignore them...They don't care about the rules, the crew and definitely don't care what you have to say...It is their vacation, their hard earned money, ignore them and avoid them as best you can...If they are really really bad you can let the crew know about the situation. Simple...taught my son these simple rules when we first started to cruise...He has never gotten in trouble actually the opposite..One cruise the other kids were so bad my son and his friends were taken to the bridge for a tour as a thank you from the crew for being so good. Yep I am still proud of him....although on land he is still a teenager and most days he helps me understand why some animals eat their young...I am amazed any human makes it to adulthood.....

As we were all contained in the ship chairs were at a premium. I spotted a table with two middle age people and two empty chairs. I asked if i could use the two extra chairs and they said no, their adult children might come down later. So ....... I asked are they coming? They said no word yet .... so I took the two chairs and said If your adult children come down while we are having coffee I will immediately bring the chairs back. Problem solved.... ps they left and i returned the chairs to their empty table.

I hate those people. We were on a cruise a few years ago, waiting in the comedy lounge for the show to start. A toddler starts running around the room, slapping people as he runs by them. Mom and Dad think this is HILARIOUS and she gets out her iPhone to film it. At one point, the kid runs up on stage and starts to strip. Mom says "Take it off. TAKE IT AAAALLLL OFF!" and I'm pretty sure at that point the kid is going to take off his diaper since he's already kicked off all his other clothes. My son (who is autistic and has a hard time with rule breakers as it is) muttered "Somebody needs to stop him RIGHT NOW." The kid continued to run around the room, slapping people and being annoying. It only stopped when he grabbed his Mom's phone and tried to do a tap dance on it. Gail Gerard, I cannot believe some people. The person you described has absolutely no boundaries and shouldn’t even be having children let alone trying to raise them, if you can even call it that. I would’ve called security on the mom. Years back, what she was doing would’ve been considered child abuse. I know I’m taking it a bit far, but I can’t help but wonder what else they’ve been up to since they’ve been off the ship. I actually feel sorry for both of them. It’s obvious no one had raised her correctly and now it’s being passed on down the line. One of them is going to get hurt, if it hasn’t already happened. First, I was angry and now sad. What a horrible life to live. Maybe, just maybe she is still completely oblivious to it all, I just can’t see her as being real happy. Living a good life does bring happiness, living a life without boundaries or any consideration of others just brings small spurts of happiness and even then doesn’t touch deep down where it should.

@wcstephens9085 жыл бұрын
Justin, You can always re-sanitize your hands after using the tongs...can't purell the food if your fingers accidentally brush against something while you play the claw game with your cookie. Also, dead skin cells falling off your hand while hovering over food. Even if you keep immaculate hands/nails...do you want to trust that all the other people(adults and children) grabbing food before you are as careful with hygiene? being as careful as you while playing the claw game? It's a rule that applies TO everyone for the benefit OF everyone. Consider copycats as well, they see you do it and think it's okay...it isn't. Final note, I have witnessed full tenured professors(I'm talking STEM fields, including BIOLOGISTS) come out of bathroom stalls, walk right passed the sinks without even glancing at them and go right out the door. If an academic doesn't wash their hands after using the restroom(public one at that), while at their place of employment...one that is a haven for bacteria and viruses(college campus)...What makes you think the average person on vacation is ANY better? Please let's not open that can of norovirus/flu/parasites/...etc. Use tongs, then sanitize hands again before eating.

I know a lot of people don’t like Carnival, but I will say this for them. They are now really enforcing a no smoking policy on all personal balconies. If you’re caught smoking, anyone else in your room will be kicked off with you at the next port. Yup, that’s right, so if there are any cigarette, cigar, or pot smokers out there, do not take the chance of ruining everyone’s cruise who is sharing your room. Every cruiser has been told that fire is a ship’s worse enemy. Smoking on a balcony can easily cause a fire. Too many people think it won’t happen to them, and mostly they’re right and lucky. However, fires have been started this way. If you want to smoke, take your happy a ss up to where smoking is allowed. Please do not take the chance of causing a fire or being kicked off the ship during your paid vacation, especially if there are others sharing your room. I honestly don’t think you’d hear the end of it if you did get caught. For me, if we’ve all been told repeatedly not to smoke on our balconies or in our room, then I think it’s beyond rude to ignore it as well as dangerous. And guess what? I’m a smoker too. So yes, if I really want one, I get up and dressed and go to where we are allowed to light up. I would never ever put my family or other cruisers in danger due to not only ignorance, but disregard for others. It’s selfish and rude. Other than that, I hope you all have an amazing day. Be well and stay smiling too.
@angelascairato83254 жыл бұрын
Ma'iingankwe H I agree with that and I am a smoker and I will not smoke near kids or wherever I want. There are plenty of places to go. And if there isn’t then I won’t smoke. I hate inconsiderate people.

Sean Donahue What if the inconsiderate smoker tries it a second time, in their cabin. If they fall asleep while smoking, the whole ship could start on fire and then thousands of innocent passengers are left in that foreign country, some or all, dead.! @@seandonahue87 Oh yes they will after your first warning and fine if they catch you doing it again. They have put off people in ports for many reasons. I have seen them do it. Get into a fight on board that gets physical and watch what happens. I have seen people get kicked off for pot, couples fighting in their rooms. Saw a whole family removed because their teen tossed several beach chairs overboard one night. They will remove and have you arrested for jumping off the ship in a port while the ship is docked also. There is numerous reason they can and will. It is in your contract that they can remove you for any reason.

She finally got off the stage and told the guy to "put his phone away, NOW!" he did so begrudgingly...i'm sure he will find some way to complain about it since she embarrassed him...though honestly he should've been escorted off. Stephen Ducar Agree. I’ve seen many times very early in the morning on sea days people running around the pool deck saving chairs, saving as many as 6 at a time. I’ve observed these chairs going unoccupied for most of the morning only to observe a couple disheveled people show up later looking like they just were coming off an all night bender. Most people including myself try to avoid confrontation while on vacation so these obnoxious people always seem to get away with saving deck chairs.

Gregg Messerschmitt, I understand you not wanting a confrontation, especially on vacation. Maybe next time when you see this and you’ve noticed they haven’t returned for say, 45-60 minutes go up to one of the attendants and let them know what you saw and if they would kindly remove their belongings. If they do, and the people finally make it back and say something to you, let them know nothing was on the chairs and to see the attendant for assistance. It keeps you safe and you get to enjoy spot. I’m just throwing this out there because I think what these people do is wrong. I want you and everyone else to enjoy their cruise without confrontation and to have the playing field fair so to speak. Take care.

My wife and I are now in retirement and have holidays about four times a year. We have never been on a cruise and have no desire to do so. Your video has confirmed that our decision is the correct one. Buffets are a real turn-off for us as the behaviour of clients is often annoying. Some feel the urge to fill their plates to overflowing as they feel it is all free. Also, there is no escape from annoying people on a cruise whereas if you have a holiday on land you can do your own thing during the day. The most annoying thing for us arises from a video on cruising that advised people how to avoid tipping staff on a cruise. Cruise ship catering staff are no different from waiters, barmen etc on land. They are paid the minimum wage and rely on customers leaving a decent tip for their excellent service. When we go on holiday/vacation we set aside a decent amount of cash to tip the staff. We just can't cope with people who seemingly conspire on how to avoid leaving tips. To those I say "get a life" and don't be so miserable.

#14 loud complainers. a lot of adults have been trained to know that the bigger tantrum they throw, the quicker they get exactly what they want. It starts in childhood when a child screams and cries until they get what they want. They know that they will be given what they want to get them to stop with the tantrum. My Father had the solution. After telling me to stop my undesirable behavior ONE time and promising punishment if I did it again, I of course would try it again. He then would escort me to the car and administer the promised punishment. This was usually a spanking. No hitting, punching or slapping. Just a good, old fashioned butt warming. It took me a few lessons to get the message since I was a hard-headed child, but eventually I learned. I did the same thing with my 2 sons. They were smarter than I was and it only took them one or two experiences. We had the best behaved children in almost any restaurant we went to. Dad is gone now and times have changed. But the lesson was learned!

I saw a guy lick his right hand fingers then used the same hand to pick up food in the buffet line. One of the workers saw it, took the whole food tray & replaced it with another dish. The guy continued to get more food using his nasty right hand!

You forgot to mention the parents that leave their parenting skills at home and let their children run wild, tear things up, just drop food everywhere, run all over the ship at all hours, and then to top it off they are in the next room slamming doors, screaming, jummping off the beds, playing the tv at full volume, have i missed anything.

These suggestions should be used daily........During fine dinning, I felt so bad when someone told the waiter, they should serve for them at their wedding. This was said immediately after that person stated loudly, "those people are making so much money off us."😠 At that point, I wanted to get another table when I heard them make fun of the staff's broken English., as they sang. 😠Why can't people treat others with respect, on or off the cruise? 🌹

Had an older man on a RCL cruise at Muster told me how fat I was. Every time he saw me on the ship he’d tell me how fat I was. His friend finally told him. He’s a big boy he may throw you off the ship. But he was just plain rude

Great video! Most of the annoying things wrapped up into one. My first and foremost annoyance is the buffet dopes. I also can't stand the skunk smell of pot permeating the balconies.

The person who takes 3 minutes in the buffet to put fries on their plate - they hold everyone else up by putting one fry on their plate at a time and seemingly inspecting every fry . They're fries, grab a scoopful and move on

Paul Keay, I have a condition called Essential Benign Tremor. It just means certain parts of my body shake a lot,in my case it is primarily my hands, sometimes to the point where I cannot hold a pen or silverware. If it takes me a few minutes to put something on my plate, believe me I am not inspecting it and it is no more fun for me than those behind me in line. So may I ask that you learn some patience, please.

@@hume6900 could a helper get you the fries ? and you get everything else . I am in wheelchair and there are somethings I know I need help with . It makes things go smoother for everyone and I get the things I can . a lot of times when I get on the elevator I will say clearly , sorry I take up so much room folks . Haven't had a negative word yet

I get super annoyed with strangers trying to talk to me when it’s not appropriate. My first cruise was in November and this couple kept trying to talk to me during the muster drill and kept bragging they’d heard it a million times, but we hadn’t. We just kept trying to listen to the drill while they yapped.... we had that during muster, during shows, etc. Be respectful that some people want to pay attention and want to hear what’s going on. I don’t care if we’re eating or waiting for an elevator, or waiting for a show to start, but don’t do it when something else is going on.
@traveler320ak75 жыл бұрын
I think it is okay to call people on their B.S. If they rush me as I try to get off the elevator I say something to them..as nicely as possible of course. If they have their TV blaring with their balcony door open so everyone with a balcony has to listen to the price is right I will ask them To please turn down the TV...if i walk down the hall and a large group will not move I say something...as nicely as possible. If they are smoking i ask for security. All the people you talked about are super rude and if we just let them do what they are doing they will continue to do what they are doing.

My favorites are the people who scour their cabin looking for one little thing out-of-place, so they can rush down to the customer service desk and DEMAND a room upgrade. I like when they're told, "sorry, the ship is full".

I was on a cruise with my mother, aunt and uncle, they went to sleep while I hit up the midnight movie (ready player one is a favorite of mine) where a drunk man sat next to me and tried to hit on me. When I politely informed him I was married, he kept on, so I bluntly told him to leave me alone. He got so angry I didn't want to sleep with him that he flipped over his chair, almost hitting me and started calling me a bitch and tease since I was in a sundress. The crew had to come to my aide and I never went anywhere alone for the remainder of the cruise... Edit: btw love your videos! You seriously are the voice of reason.

The most annoying are the ones no one talks about. What about the family of 8 that insist that they have to walk through those narrow corridors side by side so no one can get past them? I run into them every single day on cruise ships.

Late for muster , chair hogs , and rude to crew are my big ones ! I think everyone should take the “Behind the Fun” Tour , or whatever it’s called according to cruiseline . It would give 5hem a little more appreciation for the crew , and how much work is involved you a great vacation.

Talking about the complainers. My husband and I were relaxing in the jacuzzi . This woman started talking to me and all she did was talk about negative stuff. We got out. Don’t be a Debbie downer. We went on vacation to get away from our troubles.
