I never leave comments anywhere, but I feel the need to share how this woman changed my perception when it comes to giving birth - I was anxious and scared before, but she taught me how to believe in my body and accept labor as a natural process. I gave birth to my girl 4 weeks ago naturally without any tearing, and she was 4,5 kilograms (10 lbs)! From the bottom of my heart - thank you Bridget. I will recommend your channel to every future mamma I know in order to raise awareness about how beautiful giving birth truly is ❤️

@@maidahabdi9991 I can't be sure what helped out the most, but I can share my "routines" with you that (I think) gave me the best possible outcome. I walked a lot; not everyday, but whenever I felt I need to get moving. Sometimes laying or sitting all the time felt like the worst thing to do while being pregnant. I exercised on fitness ball a lot (like Bridget showed in her videos), especially in the last month, which helped my girl to get into perfect position for labour. Drinking a lot of water is also a huge thing. I read somewhere genetics has nothing to do with it, as my mom teared during all three labours. Oh, and I had a very active sex life during pregnancy, and I can assure you it definitely helped as your pelvic muscles strenghten during sex. Hope it helped!

YES. These kinds of videos helped me so much in labor. My labor was 3 hours long from the time my water broke to when she came out. I was 35+4. At 7 they switched nurses and my new nurse thought I had an epidural bc of how well I was coping! I had her at 7:37! No medication whatsoever except the mild pain meds they give you after and pitocin. Breathing and following these practices helped soooo so much to have a comfortable and healthy labor. I recovered so quickly and my whole experience was absolutely surreal ♡ wishing this and more to all of the parents here ♡

I just want to say thank you! I followed as much as I could of what you teach about thriving during birth. I was able to have an unmedicated vaginal birth in the hospital. From the time I got to the hospital to the time I had my baby in my arms was less than 4 hours. It was amazing. And I just kept telling myself to feel my body and my baby and what we were doing together. I stayed at home for as long as I could and once I got to the hospital they wanted me to stay in my bed since they but you in the L&D er before a delivery room but I just kept telling them I had to pee so I could walk around and stand by my bed pretending I couldn't get myself in bed lol. I did give birth on my back but only cause I felt the need to push before I could even think about what position I was in lol. But meditation was a life saver when it came to pain. But all in all I just want to say thank you! Oh and I was a VBAC.

I've followed all of your videos over the last few months especially everything related to relaxing mind and body in preparation for a relaxing vbac birth. Did daily meditations and exercises and had all the knowledge to be prepared. Sadly in early labor while still home I had uterine rupture and lost my baby. Ironically I was breathing thru it as per your videos trying really hard to get thru those really painful contractions. Unbeknownst to me my previous incision tore open and my baby and placenta were expelled from the uterus out into my body. Thank God I survived although it was a few hours until I went to the hospital!!! Sadly I won't ever know what a natural labor looks like. After all that prepping it's a tough reality to face....plus the empty arms...it's painful.

@@JD-fu2mz i had my 40wk appointment, I was 3cm and 70% effaced and my BP was slightly elevated (which it had not been at all throughout my pregnancy) so my OB sent me to the hospital to be induced. I started the induction at 6pm and my baby was born at 7:47AM vaginally and healthy 😍 I did initially want to go without pain medication all natural but once my water broke the contractions were so intense my whole body was shaking uncontrollably and I opted for an epidural. I tried using Bridget’s breathing techniques, but I couldn’t calm my body down. At first I felt very defeated getting the epidural, but I am extremely glad thatI did!

I am curious to get your thoughts on how long you could let a woman go before inducing. I wanted to avoid induction, but by 42 weeks labour still hadn't started and so I got induced. Thankfully I had been practicing hypnobirthing and was able to birth my boy without any further interventions. But I am curious, is there a point where you would recommend it just because mama is SO far past due?

My midwife (in Sunshine Coast Australia) told me that one of her women got to 43 weeks and labour started spontaneously, and she had an uncomplicated natural birth. She said so long as there are no growth restrictions in bub, there is plenty of amniotic fluid still, heart rate is strong, and foetal movement is sufficient, and no other individual risk indicators are present, there is no reason to intervene :)

Love your videos and I've been practicing the breathing methods. In my country it's so frustrating doctors are so eager to cut you(C-sections and episiotomies) and I can only give birth on my back, I've been trying to talk to my ob-gyn but this is non negociable. We've had a good relationship until it came to the actual birth and now I'm feeling down thinking about it. She's also not giving me good vibes about natural birth, always asking me when is my c-section programmed :/ and won't discuss my birth plan with me. It's so late now and I have to give birth with her, because the state hospitals are bs and also I can't have anyone with me at birth... :(

@lindseyh5735
@lindseyh5735 2 жыл бұрын
My first pregnancy was twins (di/di - fraternal) and I was told the same thing. Had to leave my wonderful midwives for an OB that I didn't want. However, my hospital really did do everything they could to get me a natural birth. They probably won't move you to the operating room until that first baby is RIGHT there, so you'll be able to labor in the normal room for as long as you need to. They want you in the OR because things can change very quickly between baby A and B. You should be able to find out what conditions they're willing to let you labor in with twins, and why. Such as do both babies need to be head down, or only baby A? Do you have to be induced at a certain week or not, and why? And please ask questions about, and prepare emotionally, for having a c-section. It's not a given, but I didn't prepare even for the possibility... and ended up having one, which just made everything confusing and horrible. (But there are reasons I believe I ended up in that situation, I would still expect natural delivery with twins.) It was actually very confusing for me because I expected to move to the OR as soon as I reached 10 cm, but we were hanging out in the delivery room for five hours after that! So I would ask them when they will move you and then you can be prepared instead of missing that communication like I did. Today I'm 40+1 with baby #3 hoping to go into labor soon so I can have a vbac. Good luck, fellow twin mama!

I’m so scared of the pain…. I don’t handle pain well at all. It’s been a painful pregnancy and while I love the idea of an unmedicated birth, I think I might want an epidural. With that being said, I have heard that you CAN move into some different positions with the epidural…. Which I hope is true. I know it may be harder to get into them with decreased feeling, but I really don’t want to give birth on my back. Anyone having similar feelings, or went through this? I would appreciate any advice! (My OBGYN said I could only push on my back w/ epidural but….. I’m hearing from everyone else that I can….)

I would say if you don’t want to switch so late into your pregnancy, the biggest thing you can do is stay and labor at home for as long as possible! As a first time mom often early labor may seem like we are about to give birth, but usually when you are in progressed active labor, you are so focused on riding the contractions that you won’t be really chatty even between breaks in the contractions, you would be more focused on preparing for the next one.

Being informed of your rights, knowing the difference between law and hospital policy, and finding a doula or birth companion to advocate for you may help. You’re right. In many hospitals, hospital staff will steamroll you into what’s suits their practice, rather than what’s right for you. ❤️

Move where you want and get in the labor position you want, you aren't a sick patient, unless there is a medical emergency, you have complete control. I had the same exact experience with my first baby that you described and learned they use verbiage that sounds like they call the shots and that's just not true. Be confident and decided.
