I had the 2016 gsxs, awesome bike for the $ bulletproof reliability, easy to service, good build quality and that k5 motor. Never had a problem with the throttle but did add a Nitron shock and better bars, ebc hh+ pads. I looked at the mt01/S1000r but liked the fact the Suzuki was simple with little to no electronics.

Personally I prefer the K5 motor rather than the current vvt engine. I've had both L7 GSXR1000 and the current Katana, the L7 vvt engine is brilliant on power and narrower in size as a result of removing the balance shaft, but there is a lot of engine vibration and you can feel it on the handle bar. On the other hand, the K5 motor maybe 50hp less but the power delivery is super smooth and the intake howl sounds absolutely beautiful, and I think for most of the riders out there 150hp is more than enough😉

I completely got you when you said, 'I have a soft-spot for Suzuki' Me too, I have a DRZ and used to have a GSX-R 600, they just have a certain character about them, hard to explain and they're so well priced. The exotica is great, but most of us won't be able to afford or get the best out of one - nowhere near! Also like what you said about TFT screens - WHO CARES!!! I go out for 6hrs on my bike and barely ever look at the screen. All this chat about TFT screens is bollocks lol. It's about the RIDE not the technology, leave that for the iPhone zombies 🤣 P.s. Actually considering one of these for my next bike - colour is great too, another Suzuki quality!

The new MT-09 has the small TFT screen. MT-07 and MT-10 are still LCD. All lovely bikes, and I’d happily own any of them, but for the money I still think this GSX-S1000 is very difficult to beat as a package. I was thinking Tuono 660 but the Suzuzki is nearly the same price and you get so much more, and it’s a more refined bike. The Tuono 1100, though, is a whole other conversation.

@@pranjal70 the 750 motor is a very capable motor for in traffic riding. The engine gets hot but not unbearably so even on hot days. The longest I have done is 400km and it was comfortable. Unlike the MT series though it is a bit more sportier. I am 5'11" and end up a bit more hunched on the front. Would have loved the 1000 but heard reports of the snatchiness and did not even try. That, and the fact that I was graduating from a 135cc. Now though, I think I can handle the power. All in all the 750 is a superb balanced motorcycle. I emailed Suzuki GB about the snatchiness of my 2019 GXS S1000 and they said that they have had no complaints about that particular problem, I couldn't believe it. Everyone I had spoken to who knew of this particular bike said that the bike was great except for the snatchy throttle response. I felt really insecure on bends, even on uneven roads and riding in town trying to stick to about 30mph. Because of all these issues with the bike I traded it in and lost a lot of bloody money. While I'm sure the throttle response has been sorted I won't be getting the new model. I don't trust Suzuki because they lied to me with their response to my email that I sent to them.
