I wasnt taken with the looks when first introduced but after riding I started to talk myself into it. Price dropped to $10k in Oz which is high spec for the price but ended up following my head and got the CB650R..

Nothing is more fun than a smallish bike in the twisties, people are so hung up on large cc and bhp. For road riding in the UK 75 hp and 150 kg are more than enough to keep up with anything in the twistes

I test rode the Svartpilen... 701 it was amazing. Perfect commuter. The tank size is smaller than the 690 duke. Waiting for Triumph 660 Trident... Similar engine size but a triple. Power torque figures mmmahhh

I have the 2019 KTM 690 Enduro with the same motor and it is an impressive thumper. Plenty of power, surprisingly smooth and thrifty on petro.

My 401 says it takes 91 octane recommended or higher, so I use ethanol free 91 I’ve noticed when I use anything lower it hesitates a bit

Can I be a pain and ask about the 360 as your footage looks much better than mine. I tried mine as a car passenger last week out of the window and results were hit and miss, some good and some breaking up around the edges. Do you colour grade the 360 videos at all as that seems to pixelate my footage if I do so? What resolution are you uploading to YT in? Up till now I've used 1080p but wondering if 2.7k or 4k would help. I am getting a drop off in quality due to YT compression, i.e. looks better on my PC than on KZbin. I'm wanting to use mine on the bike but hoping for better quality than I've managed so far.

Hi Ian, I dont grade the colour with the Insta and also I use the desktop app to produce the 360 video. I render the 360 video at 60 mps to get the best possible quality and then when I render the final video to KZbin I do 2k video. That helps with bypassing the YB compression with 1080p. Hope that helps, ive been super impressed with the camera, I thought it might be a gimmick but its worth the extra workflow to get those shots IMO

Great vid 'Chops. I really like the look of the bike tbh (I lik coffee) but not sure I'd really enjoy it compared to the 'Blade. What I really want is the 1290 engine in a similarly styled package to this. That would be quite a machine!

A nice styling exercise. But I would take the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth over this any day, and it's cheaper :)

The XSR doesnt handle as well I can tell you, this is much sharper. XSR suspension is poor and too much chassis flex. Great bike lots of fun but not a super sharp weapon like this

@@LambChopRides Yeah, I know. And I'm heavily biased as a XSR900 owner (with 1k euros worth of suspension upgrades). Who cares about losing a tenth in the corner when you can pop a third gear power wheelie on the way out ;) That said, hats off for Husky bringing us something different. I wish they'll do something special with the 790 motor too.

I owned this bike for a couple of months, its definitely not a good commuter, the riding position is too aggressive and its a pain in the ass to ride it in the city with the bad fuelling in low rpms. Its an awesome sunday scratcher or even on a twisty track👍🏻

I have no bad fueling at low rews. It's a thumper. It will always shudder under 3000 rpm. Had mine for two summers now. Loving it but will replace it with the Duke 890 next year.

Here in Norway these are quite cheap compared to others because of the power weight tax we have. I realy want a Svartpilen next year but havn`t seen an indipendant review on one yet... have a go on noe for me please mate.

Oh really thats interesting... I can try the Svartpilen but think it will be too similar and probably not a sharp as has bigger wheels and the tyres are more duel purpose.. But following my own advise about not drawing conclusions before trying these bikes I guess I should give it a go!! :-)

@@LambChopRides Mt-09 is £2500 more (sp £3500 more), the 690 SMC is same price (too tall for me :( ) , 790 is £2000 more. I`m a shorty so like the scrambler stance. Compared to the competition over here with the weight/power tax, nothing else has the gadjets the svart/vitpilen has. I also image that the svartpilen is a little more playfull with the wider bars? They don`t sell them where I live but I do have a local (KTM) dealer who can service them. The MT-07 is only £900 less, on the road. please take one out, pretty please with sugar on top. .... Its a shame that KTM don`t do an updated duke 690 R with blipper/quickshifter, think that would be Ideal for what I use it for. Our roads are perfect for it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3TWlZiEZ86np80

Have you tried the 401 Vit or Svart? I know they'd be a bit underpowered for you but you did mention the KTM RC390. I did own a Duke 390 but didn't like the look. I'm looking for a smaller capacity machine as a 2nd bike and may give the Svart 401 a go. It's down to £4k now which seems a good price.

nice video, nice looking bike (from some angles). Sadly its a 10k bike in Germany this makes it seriously overpriced. Alsow the frame looks verry verry oldschool (engine sitting in it and not beeing part of it)... at least you had fun. But who is driving less then 1h on a motorbike - you need about an hour to get to interessting roads where i live and if you go in town only a scooter might be the better deal... ;) keep up the nice work. Oh - and go buy that damn Tuono Factory already.... ;)

Have you not got your gearing wrong? Lower gearing = faster acceleration, lower touring speed at higher revs. Vis a vis, higher gearing lowers acceleration, and better at a higher cruising speed at lower rpm.
