Hey Zach I love your videos! You do a great job demoing gear and you are a killer guitar player too! Question do you know if the 2nd position automatically splits the humbucker or does It blend the full humbucker in similar to how suhr sets up their HSS strats?
@ZachBrobstMusic Жыл бұрын
Hey there! I don't definitively know - guessing how there is a decent drop in volume I'd assume it does split the humbucker but I could be wrong!

You know man, I've been playing Strats all my life and never actually liked the bridge single coil pickup. Also didn't I understand the middle pickup. Thus almost all my playing was in positions 2, 4 and 5. At the same time I, for some reason, don't like the idea of humbucker pickups on a Strat, I'm kind of a purist here-Stratocaster is an SSS guitar to me. Everything changed when I bought the Triple Shot set about a year ago. Both the bridge single coil pickup and the middle pickup suddenly appeared in my playing. Kurtis has done something so wonderful with these pickups that... >The middle one sounds as a blood kin of the neck pickup, it is the same character! It's just more treble. Same effect when you pluck the string closer to the neck or to the bridge. All my previous experience with the mid pups made me think they were insipid. The Lambertones mid single coil on the contrary is full of flavor, it sounds amazing! >The bridge pickup is bright, but not thin anymore, it cuts very well, it is distinct and audible all the time. And-it sounds beautiful. Something I could never say about the Strat bridge pup! For decades the Strat bridge pickup was harsh to me as scratching a plate with a fork. Now I frequently find myself playing Strat in position 1 for hours(!) listening to the tonal beauty it makes.

Love to hear that! The triple shots are truly an incredible set of pickups.

Hey, love all of your Lambertones demo videos! I have a Strat that I’m contemplating installing these in, and can’t decide between this “HSS” configuration (with The Crema in the bridge), or a “HH” configuration, with The Crema in both the bridge and neck positions. I know this is all subjective, but since you’ve played both of these types of pickup configurations in your videos, which do you think you preferred overall? I mainly play praise & worship, so I care less about an “authentic Strat tone”, and more about versatility for praise & worship music. Plus I have another “SSS” configuration Strat, if I need to go for an authentic sounding Strat. Thanks for your help!
@ZachBrobstMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hey Danny! If you already have an SSS strat and aren't worried about that "signature strat" sound I'd go HH with two Cremas. That's kind of my "perfect" P&W tone when I had my Suhr JM with cremas and I miss it a lot!

Suhr vs lambertone pickups? If you had to choose? both are amazing!
@ZachBrobstMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... Lambertones for clarity and then the Suhr's for that typical "strat quack"! For worship I think the Lambertones are more well rounded!

sounds great! i got lambertones triple shots and a grinder last year. didn't realize i needed to make a custom pickguard to make it fit my washburn n6. after awhile i just got the idea to get a cheap squier and put the lambertones in there. curious to see how it will sound.

I imagine it will really make the squier come to life!

Hey thanks so much for this. I have a hard time dialing in my HSS Strat. For an edge of breakup tone, do you prioritize the humbucker? Or the single coil (neck). I suppose it doesn't matter, but maybe in a PNW context.
@ZachBrobstMusic Жыл бұрын
Hey there! I have another triple shot video coming out soon with a Grinder bridge so be sure to subscribe! Edge of breakup is definitely bridge or neck pickup for me. I wouldn't overlook the middle pickup though, I find it super usable. Depending on your bridge the bridge pickup may be a bit too bright

Hey Pip! Are you referring to the section where I mentioned that on their website the Triple Shots use a "Unique wiring and tension method"?
@pipcount19742 жыл бұрын
Hi Zach . Thanks for your reply . Sorry didnt make it clear . I’m more after the strat wiring that you use for the HSS of yours where you can split coil the humbucker. 😀
@ZachBrobstMusic2 жыл бұрын
@@pipcount1974 Oh for sure! It's a simple push / pull pot. Something as simple as this from Stewmac will do the trick and as long as you have 4 wires coming from your Crema you can do it! www.stewmac.com/electronics/components-and-parts/potentiometers/cts-push-pull-pots-dpdt/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAuvOPBhDXARIsAKzLQ8G88JRMUQD0U-K1Ab5vVNyu3GIfZHzxojhIt9EfTQBgSJvansh5Z3IaAtGiEALw_wcB
