NZ farmers sometimes have the rep of being callous, don’t know why. You guys clearly care about your animals. Breaking the stereo type. Plus who doesn’t love a wee lamb cuddle every now and then🥰. Another great vid.

Lambing here is a couple of weeks. In 12 years the most unusual thing I have was a ewe who had a single at 8am in the morning and then I delivered her Siamese dead twins at tea time. She wondered off and never looked back, good as gold. I cleaned them and froze them and then later sent them off to a university or somewhere in NZ where they learn. The autopsy was done the day or day after they arrived and I was sent the results. Very interesting. They were joined at the belly area, 2 boys and like a mirror image of each other.

Very interesting. Well done for sending them off for others to learn from.

Hi Alister, watching you trying to check up on all your yews, helping at birthing and dealing with prolapse etc etc etc reminds me why I done miss lambing and farming. You wake up during the night when there is a storm and you just have to get your gear on and check all the paddocks that have culverts, just in case there is a slip and one gets blocked up, then whilst you are up you might as well make a cup of tea for the misses. I had Texel sheep, the ones with the big heads and small rears. There was always something that needed help. Good luck to you, like your fencing gear! Cheers mate Harera

Thanks mate. It is tough but it's a mix of good and bad. With tough times and really happy times. Thanks for watching.

I climbed more hills than I care to remember when I was in the Army, most of them we had to run up them with atleast webbing and rifle, sometimes with pack aswell.

I have enjoyed your everyday lambing.

We are just hobby farmers. But had something interesting happen this week. We had a Ewe had here first lamb on February 11th this year. The lamb stayed drinking on the mother for quite a while. Anyway she had twins this week on the 21st August . That’s 6 months and 10 days between lambing. Thought that was pretty unreal. We have had plenty do 7.5 months. But never in the 6 months before.

Great video Alistair lol I kept checking youtube last night for a up load 😂. Was worth the wait. You keep teasing us about stopping to get a pie but never show us what you get 😂. At least the next 4 days are looking good weather wise and no frosts so he'll to warm up the ground and get the grass growing

Great to see better weather and things going well. Why do you not use the heading dogs to help with the shedding off?

I was thinking that same thing today? ???

Hey Alistair how often do you feed the lambs that you have in the shed? Ha ha puffing going up the hill = too many stops at the Oxford bakery . Thank you for the video and when all those lambs grow up the sale price has improved 👍
