It’s time for an epic Audi vs Lamborghini showdown!
We’ve got Mat in his Audi R8 Spyder V10, and it’s facing off against a Lamborghini Huracan Evo! These cars are almost identical under the skin, but let’s see how they compare anyway.
Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can put down 620hp and 580Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,695kg. As new, this car would set you back around £167,000.
Then we have the Lambo. It’s powered by the same 5.2-litre V10 engine, but the power output has increased slightly, climbing to 640hp and 600Nm. It comes equipped with the same 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the claimed dry weight is 1,422kg (so you can add around an extra 100kg for the proper weight). It’s a bit pricier than the Lambo, costing around £198,000.
So will the more powerful Lambo snatch it? Or will the Audi’s launch propel it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

The only thing I can notice that is different from when you're drag racing to when you're testing the launch is the amount of time you hold your car in launch mode. When you're practicing, you just hold it for a sec and then let it go, when you're dragging, you're holding it for much longer, maybe that overheats the clutches or the robot arm

Matt, if your tyre pressures are up high that can upset the launch calculations. Try launching it with 4psi less all round... Also make sure that the front and rear tyres (whatever psi you run) have the same difference percentage between front and back as the recommendation. Those millimeters front to back can make the difference between it's calculations of projected or actual wheelspin, and therefore think there's moore spin on one axle than there is.

Two points to consider 1. Use the lighter R8 v10 plus / performance coupe, not the heavier Spyder. 2. Don't hold the car on launch for so long. It launched better when you did a shorter launch sequence.

You should do first rolling race with Comfort setting in R8, not Auto. Auto adjusts to your driving so it could be the reason why it was faster than Lambo in Strada mode.

It’s because you’re holding the rpm’s too long before launch during the races, brake needs to be released quicker- when you released the brake quick on the test runs it worked every time.
