I live in Miami and stopped by Curated before it had even opened but still had a few cars in the showroom. John saw me peeking through the window and opened the door and showed me around the place for a solid 45 minutes. I wasn't a prospective buyer or anything. Just one of the nicest guys I've ever met who truly loves cars. Very happy for his success.

I don't want to come off like an internet arm chair quarterback, but the way this guy flip flopped on the original deal with the original perspective buyer just shouts immaturity to me. Using the auction house to 'create competition' then going back to that buyer and closing the deal north of 2 mil was the play. Nevermind that he made a pomise in good faith to that buyer and then unwound it for his own ego. How to kill a relationship with a customer 101. It was almost like he was enjoying the thrill of seeing how high it would sell for at auction... instead of just managing the numbers and understanding what that means for his reputation. Never mind how long that car sat in his inventory before the windfall finally came.
