What a wonderful surprise Tama-San! I was given this model for my birthday, by my best friend, in 1979. It was my very first Tamiya model. Back then I was still fairly new to painting and everything was done by brush. However, I do not recall ever painting this one. The next year, I saw this car for real at the F1 Grands Prix at Kyalami, my heart melted when I saw it, it was the greatest car ever for me back then. Once again you have brought to life for me memories from my childhood that are very cherished for me. I thank you sincerely for this.

Good morning. Thank you for watching as always. Yes. It was a wonderful kit that reminded me of the lasting impact of the magic and passion of our childhood. I am honored that you feel this beautiful memory with me. I am honored to join you on your journey down memory lane🤗✨
Beautiful job Tama! I built this kit a long time ago before it came with a clear coat but to be honest it doesn't look like the shortcut that Tamiya intended. When I was a boy I thought that this was the most beautiful car ever designed and I still think that although from all reports it is absolutely awful to drive. You have inspired me to have another go at this model, thanks Tama 😄

Hello Phil. Thank you for watching! I don't think I understood Tamiya's intention in preparing this kit until the end. But I had a lot of fun because I got to experience a new process. The finished form was wonderful, and it was so beautiful that it's hard to believe it was an old kit. I hope you enjoy building it too. As always, thank you🤗✨
I like how you are bringing out these older model kits and showing that despite their simplicity in terms of parts count and making provisions for motorization, thereby losing some of the chassis and engine detail, they can still build up into presentable looking models today.

Hello David. Thank you as always. I am amazed at Tamiya's technical ability, as the basic design is solid even though it is a very old kit. Once this kit was finished, it had such a wonderful form that it seemed like a modern design. It has become one of my favorites😊👍

hey tama! after watching your videos for a while, i decided to build my own, first car model, since i only build airplanes. the model i decided to build is the minolta toyota 91c-v from hasegawa. its a great kit, but i messed up one of the back wheels. i have the whole chasis done and im waiting for my white to dry, and waiting until my blue ships. it was very fun and ill definetely build another car. thank you!

Tomfoolery from ol' Tamiya. At least there were willing to try new things. Tama, you always talk like things are SOOOO difficult 😂. You make it look easy my brother. Diablo GTR next??? Maybe? .........please?
@scalemodelbuildchannel5 ай бұрын
Good evening, Bobby. Thank you for watching. It's a very old kit, but I was able to enjoy the clear coating that Tamiya kindly provided. I really enjoyed this new construction method. The Diablo GTR is one of my favorite racing cars. If I have the chance, I'll build it. Thank you😊👍

You did a great job on the Countach. I was working on a 5000S from Testors/Italeri and gave up after screwed up 3 times trying to paint the black areas around the windows. Everything else is done waiting for the day I will finally learn how to paint black without ruining the rest of the paint. Thank you for the video.

Hello. Thank you for watching. Yes. I totally understand. I'm not good at painting window frames either, so it's a process I don't want to do. That's also why I mainly build F1 and racing car kits. Please look forward to my next work🤗✨

@@scalemodelbuildchannel sure I will. I recently finished the Tamiya Lotus 25 Coventry Climax, but I didn't record it for a video, I only took a few photos. It was a "rush" build because I wanted to finish it before I pack everything for move. Once I have installed in the "new" house, I will try to put together a short video, please feel free to watch it when I have it on my channel. I also love to build Formula 1 model cars. Thank you again.

Another wonderful model, my friend! It’s funny that for seasoned modelers, the attempt to make a kit simpler has made it harder and more tedious! I did not have a poster of this car on my wall like other children, but actually fell in love with it from the manga Countach! I hope building this model evoked thoughts of driving it some day! I hope that happens for you! 😊
@scalemodelbuildchannel5 ай бұрын
Good morning Brendan. Thank you as always. Yes. I thought I would try to finish this kit more easily than usual, but the build was difficult due to the unexpectedly complicated process. It was a great kit that allowed me to enjoy Tamiya's meddling. I was surprised that people overseas knew about the manga "Countach". I also remember it and feel nostalgic. Famous cars always remind me of those days. Have a nice weekend😊☕
Another excellent build, always a pleasure to see your newest video pop up. This is such an iconic car!

Hello. Thank you for watching! I was able to enjoy the joy of building this old kit. It has become one of my favorites. I was surprised that it was clear-painted from the beginning, but I also enjoyed this process🤗✨
I made a model of this Countach about 40 years ago, but it was in the 1/12 scale from a company called Otaki I believe. It was a very detailed kit with hundreds of parts and even just the engine alone was almost like a separate kit. Great job as always. You have access to many products like the ceramic compound that are hard or impossible to find in the west.
@scalemodelbuildchannel5 ай бұрын
Hello, Trappen. Thank you for watching as always! The 1/12 scale Countach looks impressive! I was curious, so I looked it up and found that it was indeed an Otaki Countach. The details were so amazing that I couldn't stop staring at the screen. Thank you for sharing your valuable story with me😊👍✨

You’re very welcome Tama san. I like to share what I’ve learned in 50 years of building, as well as learning new things myself. I am a little saddened by the price that some of the old kits go for. The 1/12 Countach for example goes for crazy money these days online. I guess the best thing to do is buy used at model shows and swap meets.

The white box is unusual as it is normally a pre release version sent to people for preview and came with instruction on normal a4 paper not the booklet. They did do it with early release boxes of the P38 a few years ago. The white boxes are quite collectable. It's strange here as it is a re-release (original was white I think).... In any case, great model. Loved your build.
Hello VooDoo. Thank you for watching. Yes. The box for this kit is very rare, so I was very surprised when I found it in the store. I didn't know what it meant, but it seems to be a special edition. I usually throw away the box when the kit is completed, but I'm going to keep this one. Thank you🤗✨
Great work looks amazing ! I wonder is this a reboot of an old Fujimi kit ? because of the battery compartment I don't recall Tamiya doing powered 1/24 cars ?
@scalemodelbuildchannel5 ай бұрын
Hello destiny. Thank you as always. It seems that most of the old Tamiya kits were made to be run by a motor. I would like to try running one once, but it seems that it is not possible because the resale products do not have battery terminals or gears🤔💦
After every build, TAMA, you say, "I'm sorry this is so beautiful." Why?
@scalemodelbuildchannel4 ай бұрын
Good morning, bobwood. Thank you for watching. "I apologize for being so beautiful that it surprised the other person." It's a refined Japanese wordplay, but I'm still not sure if I translated it well🤔💦 I hope you have a wonderful weekend☕😊

From what I've read, Tamiya white boxes are model kits tests runs that Tamiya make to be send to some dealers and to some very experienced modelers...white boxes kits are the final test runs of a kit before going into full production runs...

Hi Rafael. Thank you for watching. I see. I bought this kit because it was rare to see it in stores, but it seems to be a very valuable kit. I think I'll keep the box for this kit for a while. Thank you for your very helpful comment🤗✨

the model that i has the front suspension piece number 18 is too short -- the wheels will face inward. .. frustrating to say the least. maybe it's a factory defect in the sprue? I dont know what to do ... I'm really disappointed and I wanted to make this model but the wheels willl not be straight.
