Lamborghini Murcielago Custom - Maisto

Maisto Lamborghini Murcielago - When I sat down to do this Murci, I planned on painting it flat grey and giving it a combat-styled look, with appropriate decals. Searching for designs for the decals, I was quickly frustrated as many of the styles I liked had an Asian theme much more appropriate on a JDM car than on this. I considered repainting it pink, much like Alex Choi’s Hurrian (not the crazy fancy schemes he’s painted it but when it was more of a “basic” pink”). The gray car sat on my bench and it grew on me just the way it was…and that’s where it ended up lol.

Hey, Jim. The Lambos, of all cars, lend themselves to the craziest neon colours that scream out "look at me!" But understated works too, and if I had one I'd go with your paint scheme and fly under the radar. I like it! 🍁👍

Digging it. Very impressed with the hood decal. I enlarge my hood decals so I could handle them. I would have pulled out my hair try to get that small decal on the hood. You definitely make the diecast look so much better. Color is cool and the wheels are sharp.

I've had some bases give me a lot of trouble to remove and I've only done a few in my short stint in making custom diecast cars. I like what You've done here. Those headlight decals were a great idea.

Well that's one way to start a video 😆. I rather like the paint job. It's unfortunate about the headlight decals. The only thing I would've done differently is hit the front and rear lights with the uv resin to give them a gloss finish. Well done sir.

Couldnt stand it. Had to look it up. Side note....my fave youtuber restoring real cars....Derek Bieri (Vice Grip Garage) couldn't even pronounce the car altogether although it was simply part of his schtick) I have been a fan of Top Gear since Jeremy Clarkson took it over back in 2002. All three presenters called it "Mer-see-ah-lah-go". Other American reviewers pronounced it the same. Google has a pronunciation tool...according to it... Mr-see-uh-laa-go for us yanks... Muh-see-eh-laa-go for them Brits... Which I suppose the top gear fellers might have been elongating the vowels but they are distinctly British so it sounds like the English version of what Ive always understood Americans to have been saying. Not sure who Ed Bolan is...but his pronunciation reminds me of Danny (diecast disasters) saying "deckles" for decals.....(or was that Rob? Cant remember....might have been Jason....) Mercy-el-laygah? Had to comment because 4 hours after watching the video....its still on my mind 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 On the build....it looks like a $9 model car now. Not a $3 toy.

First, prepare to enter the rabbit hole...Ed Bolian -- Ed is a former Cannonball Run record time holder and created the VinWiki KZbin channel - it's an absolutely fantastic channel with stories told by those who participated in each "event" described...and the variety of car related events is anything and everything - you MUST check out the channel and prepare to lose hours if not days to it kzbin.info Now, about the pronunciation of the car - the accent is on the e, not the a, as depicted in the thumbnail (but not in any of my other descriptions lol), so if you type it into Google without the accent, you get something different. Apparently it's an Italian car that names its vehicles after Spanish objects, in this case, a bat lol...which is pronounced differently still lol. Here's a wonderful reference that basically tells us that none of us pronounce it correctly...but I think I'm damn close, if not as colorful kzbin.info/www/bejne/aordmGCmlr2rf80 And finally, DON'T get me started on how to pronounce decal...or Tamiya for that matter LOL
