Bob Wallace was allegedly a good tester but he was a dreamer for sure. He probably did underestimate Lambo's lack of experience in actual racing,and didn't take into account the limited financial means of the factory. The budget to support long term testing sessions and the cars' development was way in excess of what the factory could afford. Tonino Lamborghini was aware of it, that's way he never backed up racing upgrades on his cars.
