I prey he becomes an allstar but this isn't the magic and lebron level IQ he'll need to make an impact with less than average defense

@Sanchi Hawkenrath the path that LaMelo went through is probably the most enduring mentally for any top NBA prospect. He left high school (Chino Hills) to go to Lithuania and keep in mind that this happened when LiAngelo did his shananigans in China and LaMelo's playing style wasn't well received as he took excessive amount of shots and didn't have the work ethic on both ends of the floor (at the time) and the fact that he went to Lithuania meant that he had to grow up and live outside of his comfort zone. Then playing in SPIRE was the neutralizing phase as he put the BBB nonsense behind and it was probably the key to LaMelo's readiness to play for Illawara Hawks. All in all, LaMelo's growth is the most impressive and I hope does well this season and in the NBA.

What i love about Lamelo's game is 2 things: 1) Eyes up during fast break. As a HS coach you can teach this, but most of the time its not executed. From the time Melo touches the ball he immediately looks up, his pass first mentality is what makes him an automatic Top 10, because his passing abilities are right now IMHO par with the Top PGs in the NBA, being 6'7 that has Top tier passing is very uncommon. I know Simmons is an outstanding passer, but the eyes up attribute is from time to time instead of all the time. 2) His confidence as a shooter. He has relaxed on shooting 27 footers with 15+ on the shot clock. His shot selection is again Top notch, very rarely does Lamelo get blocked, playing with taller players in HS as a freshman against guys bigger-stronger-faster, has benefited him in the long and has forced him to have a smart shot selection. He has a short memory (good thing), whether good or bad play, the next is better. Defensively hes improved, attitude has improved, his athletic ability is catching up with his mental ability. I truly believe he is a Top 3 talent and will probably end up being the #1 pick depending on teams needs. Honestly outside of the Mavs, Grizzlies, Hawks, Sixers, most teams will want a 6'7 pg with a pass first mentality, who can go for 25 points if needed to, but will consistently give you 12/8/5 in his rookie year.

Hihii Hihihi we’ve been watching melo closely since he was a 13 year old freshmen. We’ve seen his game take so many different stages and it makes it more interesting. No one cares about what them other kids have to say lol

This kid has improved so so much. My son's have been following him since high school. Great vision, deadly shooter. Need your foot speed and strength for defense, but your handles and shooting will definitely carry you to the league. Can't wait to see him play... oh, my son's really can't wait.

I called this when this kid was at Chino Hills. He’s a different breed of baller. This is the bi product of Curry and Lebron. This is the evolution of ballers. 6’7’’ PG that’s a natural shooter. Come on!!
@joeciocco4575 жыл бұрын
I love how you people say "natural shooter". His jumper is flawed in form first of all but besides that, he is shooting 32 percent this season and 24 percent from deep. Dont let the highlight tapes fool you, his jumper needs a ton of work.
@saintfrancismh80035 жыл бұрын
JOE CIOCCO is he afraid to shoot the ball?
@joeciocco4575 жыл бұрын
@@saintfrancismh8003 Oh no, def not afraid to shoot it. He actually loves to shoot it and has great range. His accuracy however, needs a lot of work.

JOE CIOCCO that I agree with. My biggest concern is the actions of his family working against him as a prospect. I think he is talented and deserves a shot.

Lamelo is gonna be a #1 if not top 3. Watching him at spire his game has changed so much and he’s a walking bucket. He has elite court vision, can finish at the rim well(his layup package in 2k finna be nice), has limitless range, and he has handles.

The critique from 12 min on finishing in the paint by adding more footwork to the rim has definitely helped Lamelo’s game in the NBA. This interview seems like the most open he has been. You can tell Mike (interviewer) wants lamelo to succeed and effectively got through to him.

How they exploiting the Ball family? It’s a symbiotic relationship. And Lavar is not banned.
