@MagzUpBr33zy 5 жыл бұрын
@trajan hercules that has nothing to do with training, i wasn't dissing him... I played at a high enough level... What I'm saying is, he is talented, but he didn't get developed under a fundamental system, so there are basics he didnt learn. Which shows the huge potential he has at the next level. Im saying he has a chance to be great. Chino hills was a run and gun program, with very few in-depth schemes and sets. U can tell by his style that its self-made, not trained, or coached.

Listen i love this kid but his vision isn't developing he's relying too much on being better than his competition rather than becoming the best player.... For instance 3:23 he misses the open cut to the basket first open easy bucket...second that same open cutter swung out to the corner open three (flashback Miami ray allen)....meanwhile he's just dribbling mindless like the boondocks episode relying on god given talent and newfound size which will noy translate to the nba and is exactly what has stiffled ZO's growth.... I prey he becomes an allstar but this isn't the magic and lebron level IQ he'll need to make an impact with less than average defense

@Sanchi Hawkenrath the path that LaMelo went through is probably the most enduring mentally for any top NBA prospect. He left high school (Chino Hills) to go to Lithuania and keep in mind that this happened when LiAngelo did his shananigans in China and LaMelo's playing style wasn't well received as he took excessive amount of shots and didn't have the work ethic on both ends of the floor (at the time) and the fact that he went to Lithuania meant that he had to grow up and live outside of his comfort zone. Then playing in SPIRE was the neutralizing phase as he put the BBB nonsense behind and it was probably the key to LaMelo's readiness to play for Illawara Hawks. All in all, LaMelo's growth is the most impressive and I hope does well this season and in the NBA.

What i love about Lamelo's game is 2 things: 1) Eyes up during fast break. As a HS coach you can teach this, but most of the time its not executed. From the time Melo touches the ball he immediately looks up, his pass first mentality is what makes him an automatic Top 10, because his passing abilities are right now IMHO par with the Top PGs in the NBA, being 6'7 that has Top tier passing is very uncommon. I know Simmons is an outstanding passer, but the eyes up attribute is from time to time instead of all the time. 2) His confidence as a shooter. He has relaxed on shooting 27 footers with 15+ on the shot clock. His shot selection is again Top notch, very rarely does Lamelo get blocked, playing with taller players in HS as a freshman against guys bigger-stronger-faster, has benefited him in the long and has forced him to have a smart shot selection. He has a short memory (good thing), whether good or bad play, the next is better. Defensively hes improved, attitude has improved, his athletic ability is catching up with his mental ability. I truly believe he is a Top 3 talent and will probably end up being the #1 pick depending on teams needs. Honestly outside of the Mavs, Grizzlies, Hawks, Sixers, most teams will want a 6'7 pg with a pass first mentality, who can go for 25 points if needed to, but will consistently give you 12/8/5 in his rookie year.

@Rational PoC haters going to hate! Time will tell buddy! Wait for a few months! The same was said when he was going to play at spire academy.. he played really well there.. I'm pretty sure he'll come out strong again! As far as zo is considered injury has plagued his career till now. But he certainly has shown flashes of greatness... Now i don't know if someone like you would have probably noticed that!! As far as the comparison with the nba and ncaa.. yes they are absolutely different... NCAA has more talent but is not as tough as Nbl.. that certainly helps a player trying to develop his strength! Thats also clearly visible..
