Hi guys, so could you say me if HDF flooring contains formaldehyde? generally yes? it depends of the manufacturer?

One thing that has not been mentioned is the thickness of the flooring, with hardwood being up to 18mm thick. This can affect threshold and edge details.

Good point! We'll keep that in mind for the next video! 🙌🏼

@@flooringsurgeons I have laid an engineered hardwood floor (9mm) on to existing concrete floors abutting other floors with a quarry tile finish and had to create a hardwood threshold in oak to transition between the two. The threshold is thinner than I would like being 12mm but its acceptable The other point worth mentioning about boarding on to concrete is that invariably moisture reading taken on the concrete will show that a dpm will be necessary, which should be an epoxy finish. It is so common that I now put it in the spec regardless.

So there is one of them that have any synthetic petrol derived material? Hardwood flooring? none ...? I miss the age of our grandparents, with the real materials that you found in nature: real stone, real wood .... and no all of those artificially made stuff. And then, we ask ourselves why our sex hormones have decreased massively in the last years. One of the major contributors is that we are completely surrounded for all of these plastics, endocrine disruptors and so on. We must return to the origins!!

I've had all three kinds of floors in my home. I would rank them in this order: #1 Engineered, #2 Solid Hardwood, #3 Laminate. I like the engineered floors ability to be sanded and refinished. In addition, it is available in wider widths because it is more stable than solid wood. If I'm wanting a more narrow board, I would probably go with solid wood. I will never use laminate flooring again. I have not found laminate flooring to be durable. Once the wear layer is worn or damaged its done.
