I love your page, & nice work. I’ve hate doing lami especially curved lami in the pass. The run normally goes bhufqeeibheir or has a monster size sea shell. Lol. I have a glass shop in SoCal and would like to pick your brain. Question Will Anything else if work if denature alcohol isn’t available. The Fire trick works good at our shop but only after work hours. We wouldn’t want 🔥🔥🔥🏃‍♂️ Im always looking for a more mobile way for out in the field? We use a Oil glass cutter and Relief cuts when free handing. Wood sash glass repairs Normally we use silicone, set the glass, and then glaze. We Don’t use points cuz they keep cracking the glass. Thanks for the questions. The fire and the alcohol go hand in hand. The alcohol dissolves the gooey stuff in the center and the fire heats it up so that it stretches. I wouldn’t want to burn my shop down either so you have to be careful. Also, with regards to silicone, we stopped using it because it is soooo aggressive that it’s borderline evil. If the glass breaks after it’s set you’ll end up destroying the sash trying to get the shards of glass off the wood. Not only that but it’s never going to mix with the second top coat of glazing that you put on, and that second will therefore always just sit on the surface when the putty is supposed to go all the way around. The points you use to set it, we use a point driver. Now I have had one drover they would crack the glass so we had to stop using that one. But that’s the way to go. Not silicone
