I was toy shopping for a nephew years ago & bumped into these. It’s what started my die cast disease. Luv it

I have nostalgia of 2011, Hotwheels was so much fun to collect at that time not like now. There was no price pressure and no rush, I bought on ebay the green lime challenger for 30 bucks a few years after their venue and was still affordable, so I was happy: she was a rare one from the Vintage Racing, that I knew, I think it's a pretty good price for both seller&buyer but now look how price are going high, that's crazy with JDM still thanks for all you work, hello from France !

I have a complete set as well. I bought every car at retail. Most of them i picked up at a local hobby shop at the time they came out. I would go every Friday. I did some running around for a few others but not a ton. The only one i didn't find was the Posey Challenger. I had a guy send one to me in an ROAK. The last mix i had the hobby shop save for me. I only bought one of each though. Never "scalped" them.

I never knew this series existed! Loved most of these cars. This could have been the series to get me interested in American muscle!

I got Dan Gurney's Cougar back in 2011, it caught my eyes at the local Toys R Us (RIP) and my brother bought it for me. I still have it in the blister after all these years. It was one of the first cars I decided to keep in the blister.

woah, people on ebay are asking 20 to 40 bucks for that exact car. it was 5 bucks at toys r us, i swear

0:43, and most because it seemed to have taken the spot of what could possibly and potentially have been newer and more interesting castings in pretty much every series of hot wheels. I wouldnt be surprised if i see this as a monster truck in jam, a color shifter, or even a base casting for some star wars or character cars.

I don't have any of the triple digit-getters but I have a few of the $50-US-on-eBay-today cars that I bought at retail when they were new. Although I saw plenty of the first few Vintage Racing 2011 waves at normal retail in Ottawa, if I remember correctly, local retailers didn't seem to stock them after the second case. However. an advantage of living in Ottawa compared to Toronto is that you can go downtown and take a regular city bus to another province. I was able to find a few of the later 2011 Vintage Racing cars like Sam Posey's #77 1970 Challenger and Dan Gurney's #48 1970 AAR 'Cuda at a Zellers in Gatineau (Hull), Quebec. Alas, even back in 2011, the Vintage Racing BRE-Datsun 510 Bluebird eluded me completely even if it was a peg-warmer elsewhere. (I remember the basic version being a peg-warmer, sure, but I never encountered a premium 510 Bluebird at retail until the final wave of Cool Classics.) I see that your Dan Gurney AAR 'Cuda, like mine, had some tampo chafing on the driver's side door due to how rough the card itself was. That's why Hot Wheels started putting that strip of plastic between the car and the card on some of the retail premium lines released after this one. I think I have 16 out of 29 or 30 (Hot Wheels Wikia has a blank entry for the 15th car in the series, I'm not sure what's going on there), although. since I don't have them in front of me right now as I type this and look at the Wikia page, one of the ones may be a Dragstrip Demon in an identical livery. Besides the BRE-Datsun Bluebird, I think my most wanted Vintage Racing 2011 that I don't have is the Penske/Donohue Sunoco 1969 Camaro. The #16 1970 Boss Mustang is probably my overall favourite 2011 Vintage Racing of the ones I do have. Amongst the ones that I have and you don't, my favourite is easily Dan Gurney's 1968 Mercury Cougar (which I remember as being one of the easiest ones to find back in 2011).

One thing I think is funny about JDM is the fact that the US went to war with Japan because they bombed us, but almost all JDM is made in America now. 😂. I love those Boss 302’s.

I also found the Datsun 510 at my local Kmart, where it sat on the hooks for about a year. Glad I got it. Was there a 68 cougar in this series, or am I thinking of another series?

Scalpers ruin everything. I mean I’ll take 1 or 2 of what I like but if it’s Something very wanted I’ll leave 1 or a few behind.
@MajorReaper136 жыл бұрын
JoshThe FordFan what sucks is in some cases there's series of cars or certain cars I won't see at all(in hand) cause scalpers will buy every one of series when it first comes out or every one of certain cars.
