The wolfdog used in this video is named Sage. She belonged to one of my friends in the wolfdog community. Sadly, Sage passed a few months after this music video due to old age. It's awesome to hear you love wolves. They are my favorite animal as well. I have a 2 year old low content wolfdog named Skyla. She is an amazing animal.

hi, your comment made me curious, what is a wolf dog and what does “low content” mean? :)

@@grace-rz5xj Hello. I am happy to be asked this since I have been in the wolfdog community for a few years now. A wolfdog is a dog that is part wolf. Pretty obvious lol, but there are different levels of content or percentages of wolfdogs. A low content wolfdog has anywhere from 1-49% grey wolf in it. Then there a mid contents that range from 50-84% wolf. High contents are 85%+. The only reliable test for wolf content is Embark DNA as it is the most accurate test for wild canids. Owning a wolfdog comes with restrictions both legally and morally. Some states ban the breed and owning one of any content whether it's low or high is illegal. They are not like a typical dog and tend to form a trust bond with their owners but generally are timid to strangers. There are exceptions to this rule as I know many people who own high contents that serve in an ambassador role to the public as well as the community. Ambassador wolfdogs, like Rosemary in this video, are like public servants. Lori, her owner took her to many events where she educated people about the misconceptions of wolves and wolfdogs. People tend to think wolfdogs are wild animals and dont belong in the family home. Regular people without knowledge on the breed shouldn't own a wolfdog. They don't make great guard dogs due to their timid nature and would most likely hide in a corner if you were faced with a break in lol. They do however, make an amazing companion animal for those willing to change their lifestyle to accommodate a wolfdog in the life. A low content wolfdog can live indoors with their owner easily since they have more or equal dog heritage than wolf. But should not be left alone for long periods of time unattended due to their destructive nature. Some mid contents can also do well in the family home but need supervision. High content wolfdogs love the outdoors and for this reason a secure containment is needed for their outdoor enclosures. Most outdoor enclosures require 8 foot fencing and dig guards since they are escape artists. I have turned an entire acre of my property to a wolfdog dream with enrichment obstacles and fun shelter and platforms to climb. Wolfdogs exist whether people agree with owning them or not and it started as a rescue of sorts when wolves/wolfdogs were being bred for fur farms since early 20th century. When fur farms were disbanded animal activists and wolf lovers took in thousands of wolves and wolfdogs. Some had personalities suited to become family companions and thus started the beginning of mass private ownership. Mine is actually a rescue from a breeder that had no business breeding these animals. A lot of backyard breeders out there are trying to make a quick buck selling wolfdogs that have all sorts of problems and some are advertised as wolfdogs that have no wolf in them at all. Just a northern dog breed mix. There are a lot of great breeders in the US that breed wolfdogs for the love of the animal instead of the love of money. The well bred wolfdogs make great ambassadors and companions. The backyard bred wolfdogs produce animals that often end up in rescues due to people not equipped in caring for one. The leaders of the wolfdog community are taking measures to shut these breeders down all over the country and have saved and spayed/neutered these BYB wolfdogs. If you would love to know more about the breed and the efforts to educate and put an end to the awful breeding practices, Lori ( the owner of the wolfdog Sage in this video) is the CEO of Guardians of the Wolves and a friend of mine. Her website provides great information on the misconceptions of wolfdogs and the effort to rescue abused and neglected animals. Another website I recommend is The Texas Wolfdog Project. I hope I gave you enough insight to want to further investigate the origins of these amazing animals yourself. I appreciate your comment. 🐺❤

I accidentally called Sage ( the dog in this video) Rosemary. Rosemary happens to be Lori's newest ambassador wolfdog and Sage passed away in 2019 or 2020 to old age. Lori told me that Sage was 16 years old at the time of her passing and this video was the last thing she did as an Ambassador before her passing.

I've been obsessed with wolves my entire life too. Chemtrails is a masterpiece visually and sonically, but i can't WAIT to see you getting into all her others !! Lana's my only music obsession. I fell into the deepest love with Gods and Monsters when it was released, and you NEED to watch Tropico !!!!! You should definitely stick with Lana's discography to catch yourself up to where we are today, waiting on Lasso this September ! You can start with Born to Die then Paradise, then Tropico !! Then Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, Lust for Life, NfR, Chemtrails, Blue Banisters, and last but most assuredly not least, Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd !! So many insanely great songs you need to experience !! And her lives !!! Oh my goodness, after you listen to shades of cool, you gotta watch and listen to the live performance from her 2015 Endless Summer Tour !!! It's legitimately one of her absolute best lives ever. Her vocals send you off somewhere ! As her music usually tends to do. I was fortunate enough to be gifted tickets to her Pittsburgh show last October 3rd. My best friend went with me. Best night of my life 🌙
