The way the writers made this scene almosts makes it seem like lana was the first person to ever celebrate Clark's birthday. Which i find extremely hard to believe considering the fact that Martha and Jonathan tried so hard to have clark be normal, so i would think they would have given him a surprise birthday party with all of his friends, but the writers and producers wanted to make lana seem like this special person to ever celebrate Clark's birthday.😂

Clark’s parents were scared he would accidentally hurt other kids while he was growing up and didn’t have full control over his powers. He literally didn’t have any friends until he saved Pete from being bullied in elementary school. Then he and Chloe became friends when she moved into their middle school. He always wanted to go to Lana’s bday parties since she lived next door and he’d watch them from his loft, but this was the first time they’d been close enough friends for her to celebrate his bday. It’s sad that I still remember all this from 20 years ago 😅

I always thought this would have been a better sequence. "When she says, make a wish, He responds "When I was seven, I fell in love with the girl next door. And in all the time since, I wished I had the guts to tell her how I felt...." He then takes the cake and says "That wish was just granted, only one thing left to wish for..." Then blows out the candles..

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't it a bit strange that Clark knew exactly what he needed to say (to say exacty what Lana wanted to hear), with no awkward silences or anything like that, and that te contact he had with Lois, he was so unsure (almost awkardly) to express his feelings for her (if I'm not mistaken, he even ignored those feelings, causing those awkward moments between him and Lois)...

I felt like he purposely forced himself to move on after Lana left. I don't think he fell out of love with Lana but the guy has to face the reality that Lana aint coming back. And Lois was there as his bootycall.

Not quite. Check season 10 episode 04 "Homecoming" and see if he has forgotten Lana. Plus Lana lasted way more episodes and seasons than Lois. I dont think it's a coincidence. Many people liked better Lana over Lois. It felt more natural and beautiful
