I am the daughter of Ronald Pellar (Lanas 7th husband/night club hypnotist) The marriage to Lana ended in part because she was an alcoholic. She was not a bad person at all, but my dad couldn’t deal with it. He had to protect her from the spotlight when she drank too much. He said she was very sweet & he never saw her without makeup. She would wake up before him & put her makeup on. She was sweet & beautiful, but it wasn’t meant to be. A lot of bad rumors were spread about my dad. My dad married my mom in 1974 & he was a great father & husband to my mom, myself & my sister. He passed away a few years ago & is greatly missed… Don’t believe everything you read. He was the best father we could have asked for.

Hi!!! I want to thank you so much for sharing this. I am going to pin this comment to give future viewers this perspective. This is a fantastic reminder that there are always multiple sides to a story and you indeed can’t believe everything you read. It’s truly incredible to hear that she woke up to put on makeup every morning and I can 100% understand how it would be difficult to deal with her drinking. I can’t express enough how much I appreciate you taking time out of your day to leave this comment and share. You are so gracious and that speaks volumes about how good your father (and mother) must have been. Sending love and light to you and your sister in memory of your late father! ✨🤍

You really brought Lana Turner to life for me! You're a natural storyteller 💖
@manal_nizam3 жыл бұрын
Just finished the video! I think the most alluring thing about Lana is that she never gave up on love, even when things turned really sour. She knew her self-worth and dropped men when she definitively knew they were not good. Often, women continue relationships beyond a relationship's prime because of fear of not finding someone else or what others will think. Also, in our society we judge people like Kim K for having short marriages, but Lana never cared about what others thought, only caring about herself and her daughter. What a queen 🙌
@AshleyAye3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Manal! 🥰 I love your take on Lana - I agree wholeheartedly. It’s interesting to see that many women in Hollywood back then gave marriage lots of chances! We don’t see that much anymore and I wonder if it’s because of how ever present 24/7 the media is now!

Lana is my absolute favorite as well. She was the most beautiful of them all. But her hair was a huge part of her look. She had a very very low side part... Then the front was swept up and the rest cascaded down. She wore her hair exclusively like that... for most of her career... And it fit her perfectly!

Enjoyed this- however, you missed a couple of big points 1-. - Lana was addicted to face lifts - having at least 5 from the 1960s onwards - she famously went to a Beverly Hills Surgeon in the 1970s with a picture of herself from 3 Muskateers- asking to look like that again - impossible. 2. - A big event was Lana's appearances in the night time Soap Falcon Crest in early 80s- Lana looked great and her character ''Jacqueline Peroult'' was a big hit with audiences and initially writers kept adding to Lana's part- until a feud developed with the star of the show ''Jane Wyman' who saw to it Lana's character was killed off.

Sean Connery chased Johnny Stomp out of Scotland because He was beating Lana, Sean Connery said He was going too kill Him and Johnny was banned from England. I'm from Idaho, and Wallace was a wild mining town. They didn't ger rid of their brothels until the late 1980's when a Democrat Governor (the only and last one), said he was going to clean up that town. Every Idaho boy went to Wallace when he turned 18 to the Oasis. It is still a bar the upstairs is a museum and has the remnants of the gals possessions still in the room from the last raid. Older men marrying young teenage girls was common back then especially in these little towns out west. My mother gave birth to my brother at age 16, and married my dad who was 5 years older in the late 50's. So it was common.

I read that Lana first took Cheryl to the doctor when she made her claim about the abuse by Lex Barker so she did her due diligence. You can't always take a child's word as the Absolute Truth, they actually do sometimes lie. The important thing is discovering the truth and doing the right thing about it. Apparently, Lana did this, although, of course, it would have been even better had she not brought horrible men like these into her homes and her daughter's life, but movie stars of that era were not trained to be good parents.
@djbmore9405 Жыл бұрын
i see what you mean but i think you are a bit unfair about Lana not being a good parent. Cheryl loved Lana and they did have a great relationship. Obviously, Lana didn't plan to marry horrible men. I mean who would? Maybe they just didn't really show their true selves until they are already married. It's right though. It was a different time.

Clark Gable was having an affair with Lana Turner while married to Carol Lombard. Carol was on a very successful national war bond tour that had raised millions. It ended in Las Vegas and she and her mother were boarding an overnight train for Los Angeles. Carol was anxious to get back to Clark because of rumors of his affair with a young starlet. She instead booked them on a flight leaving that night for LA. Tragicallly the plane crashed on a mountainside after taking off and killed everyone on boad. Clark ended the affair with Lana but never got over his grief and guilt over Carol's untimely death. She was a truly beloved star worldwide. They were very much in love and were planning on starting a family when she returned. The studio had to protect Lana and buried the affair. It would have destroyed her career. Clark was a notorious womanizer but always maintained these affairs meant nothing to him yet the one with Lana, according to friends, he deeply regretted.
