this is so perfect - you can see her struggling with a heartbreak and her close ones making her forgetting about that man for a while, whilst she isn't alone, she's so vulnerable here

Yeah, everyone seems to be talking about how happy she looks and I'm here thinking she captured depression so accurately and beautifully. I see her trying (like I do) but the lingering sense of awkwardness, uneasiness and, well, sadness, is almost palpable.

This feels like one of Lana’s most underrated songs. Hauntingly beautiful progression through a story of loss, acceptance and beauty of heartbreak. It doesn’t rely on a repetitive chorus to fill out the socially accepted length of a song, it’s almost 5 minutes of raw, gut wrenching honesty and reflection. Pure work of art.

Lana saves my life every album she releases, I remember when I wanted to die cause my mum was dead and I wanted to go with her but Lana’s songs, her sadness and her healing trip in the songs conveyed by her voice… she saved my life. Then I had a breakup, a toxic relationship while I was still depressed for everything, and the only voice in that tunnel was always HER voice… and now, that I have to heal and live with my past trauma, she is here with theese songs!!! ❤

Girlfriend thinks my music addiction is over the top...comparing it with the much younger generation obsession with phones/social media. That moment where you can see the sadness in Lana’s face and then her smile when she sees her friend goofing off absolutely broke my heart and made me whole again. I hate how much this song is underrated, perfectly captures that depressing melancholic feeling, and how lana is trying to heal of her past, and past loves surrounding with her "sisters" captures those good moments that you dont value but is when you really feel happiness, that you can be depressive but you can grow, accept, adapt, be grateful for what is around you and enjoy the moment, Those moments that you would remember nostalgic, how she paints, spends time with her family and smiles more... That's why is so beautiful and you see lana happy even tho she is not fully. People like more her early works for the rhythm but if you focus on blue banisters and you understand the poetic lyrics and listen to the beautiful vocals it floods you with this melancholic but beautiful feeling and you realize how much lana has grown as a person and how she show us it capturing it in her art

Okay but like the way she portrays sadness while being surrounded by her loved ones is so accurate. Sometimes, you just can’t help what you feel but you’re super grateful for who you have around you. The storm, darker hue and all very beautifully ties together with the song. This music video isn’t trying to be anything but what Blue Banisters actually stands for. Well done Lana Del Rey! That’s Lana’s plan is doing Satan a favor collecting souls into having people listening to her trap that manipulates the mind into thinking that her music will make anyone positive, but she is one back stabber and can heal her small depression due to a breakup. If you’re curious to know why, I’ll tell you a list. -Convincing listeners that suicide is heavenly. Which is a unforgivable sin to commit. -sex before marriage, and being lustful. -adultery. -practicing witchcraft to get the demons will into cursing someone. - copying Jim Jones ideas into preaching false prophecy and following Charles Manson’s theories on how he manipulated the shit out of his leaders.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen myself more in any visual depiction of just how fluid our emotions can be in any given moment, at any given time. Vibrant, lighthearted, engaged - in the same breath detached, pensive, somber. I don’t think either has ever completely canceled the other out in my case. This song takes that feeling and expresses it sonically, lyrically, and now visually in this video. The ups and downs of moving forward with the help of the people we love most. Continue we must. 💛

Ive been a lana fan for a long time, and ive cried to a couple of her songs before but… nothing like with this one. It just struck something in me, now it never fails to turn me into putty. Every single time i hear this song i start bawling my eyes out, and every time i need to cry i come to this song. Sometimes just singing it to myself is enough to make me cry like a little baby. It’s beautiful, its sad, it’s hopeful. She’s so unbelievably sad but she’s getting better and her sisters are there for her, the display of sorority is beautiful and she’s so honest and vulnerable, and it really comes through.

I long for him and emotionally I’m at the lowest :( I think I’ll always love him and wait for him to come back with open arms because I know I lost something unique. People say that the music deserved a better video, but I think the video is very fit for the music. It seems like it was taken with a simple camera, low on saturation and lightness, depicting her sadness. She is sad, even in the video, as she is trying to move on with the help of her friends, hanging around in her place, doing everything and nothing. The video is simple; no special effects, no bright colors, no dancing lights. The video is her sadness depicted. And sadness is blue, like her banisters, raining like the sky, it feels like breathing in sleep, deep and slow.

Oh, Oklahoma Mm-mm, mm [Verse 2] There were flowers that were dry Sittin' on the dresser She asked me where they're from I said, "A place I don't remember" Oh, Oklahoma (Oh-oh) [Pre-Chorus] Jenny jumped into the pool She was swimmin' with Nikki Lane She said, "Most men don't want a woman With a legacy, it's of age" She said "You can't be a muse and be happy, too You can't blacken the pages with Russian poetry And be happy" And that scared me 'Cause I met a man who [Chorus] Said he'd come back every May Just to help me if I'd paint my banisters blue Blue banisters, ooh Said he'd fix my weathervane Give me children, take away my pain And paint my banisters blue My banisters blue [Verse 3] There's a hole that's in my heart All my women try and heal They're doin' a good job Convincin' me that it's not real It's heat lightning, oh-oh-oh, oh [Verse 4] 'Cause there's a man that's in my past There's a man that's still right here He's real enough to touch In my darkest nights, he's shinin' Ooh-ooh-ooh [Pre-Chorus] Jenny was smokin' by the pool We were writin' with Nikki Lane I said I'm scared of the Santa Clarita Fires I wish that it would rain I said the power of us three can bring absolutely anything Except that one thing The diamonds, the rust, and the rain The thing that washes away the pain But that's okay, 'cause [Chorus 2] Now when weather turns to May All my sisters come to paint my banisters green My blue banisters grey Tex and Mex are in the Bay Chucky's makin' birthday cake Chickens runnin', bare feet, there's a baby on the way And now my blue banisters are green and grey, ah-ah [Outro] Summer comes, winter goes Spring, I skip, God knows Summer comes, winter goes Spring, I sleep, Heaven knows Every time it turns to May All my sisters fly to me To paint, paint

I really enjoy the symbolism in this song. The title it’s self could be translated to blue=sad & Banister=support/safety. These are topics that I resonate the most with. As Lana invites those who are closest to her in her life to help her feel safe and supported when she is sad is something we all need to be reminded of. We are never alone, there is always someone there to talk to when we are at our lowest points. Friends are one of the most important ingredients in our lives. 🤍

The Love and pain though rusted are still never ceasing to exist, but that’s okay cause she will paint it new every year. Definitely one of the best lyrics she ever wrote.

I feel like lana's new album is more like a poetry singing with mellow melody , and her vocals and lyrics are what makes this album beautifull , her early works like BTD or UV are songs that you play and like the rhythm and like it for the music , but something like banisters you need to focus on lyrics to see what's really beautifull about it , sometimes we need this soft and bright songs , and you can see she is really happy now , her music videos are brighter , she smiles more and spend her time with family, we still have her past works and we can listen to them , but as someone who appreciable poetry I think this album had the best lyrics and meanings and it's best to listen In night and think about your life
