Well done Kalani! So thorough and informative and so nice to be taken along to the tour by Bruce who I've seen around the island in his vehicle!

I would like to learn more about the ecological works of restoring, reforesting, and preserving Lana'i's "wai". And under Ellison, will there be more reforestation efforts? Trees definitely bring the rain.

Not sure I believe that Kalaniopuu story. Although Kalaniopuu (along with Kamehameha) attacked Lanai there is no historical record of his violence causing Lanai to lose its water. More likely, the west side of Lanai is dry because it is leeward of the mountains, similar to Wailea and Lahaina on Maui.

5:40 to 6:57 I'm thinking about gather a group of people and apply this in California since wildfires kills thousands of trees with the majority being evergreens near the coastline if I'm not mistaken... If we don't do something about it, it's only going to get worse... All the pollution there doesn't help matters... As for why I say I'm thinking about it; Well, I'm not sure if it's something that should be done or can be done... It'd require many people and many trees and that would require funds that I don't have. I also don't know how to manage such a large group of people. Probably divide it into smaller teams and assign team leaders or something... I hate how people value money over their own survival lol. Money to find cures, money to fix world hunger, money to buy trees and plant them and so on..... Always about money... Why not just do stuff because it needs to be done?? Would be nice if humanity could come together for the common good for once. Would this project not be a great place to start?

Excellent video, very informative ... plus, very inviting. This really makes me want to do this on our next trip. One suggestion: too much time is spent on the narrator on camera, and it almost made me stop watching after the first minutes. It would be better to eliminate or shorten those segments, or at least do narration as a voiceover under more sightseeing.

The island where everything is 3x's as much more than anywhere else. Nothing to do there unless you have a few thousand to play with to go on a UTV ride or horseback. This island is for the very young or very old. No jobs on Lanai unless you want to be one of Ellison's "minions". There was a reason I left 38 years ago, there is no future on Lanai.

One person should not be allowed to "own" an entire island. That is ridiculous.
