As consumers, people wouldn't realise this is actually a very smart business strategy for Lancome. Besides the brand would be able to customise shades, it will be able to store the data over countless of different customers' skin colors which in that case, it would be incredibly helpful for them to create other foundations in future which means, it probably would help them to lessen their frequencies of reformulating the shades of foundations thereby reducing the costs involved in their future formulations for foundations - just a random thought out of it
@sindhumjay85876 жыл бұрын

I'm shocked no one was as excited about the technology. I would pay just for that alone. The way different colors including black can blend together to achieve this is astounding. As an artist, it is not easy blending black with light colors at aaaaaaalllll. How did the tiny thing detect his skin color? Does it use camera-matching technology or does it detect it using other methods? 20,000 different human shades are A LOT. Also, the lady applied like a dot and this is just a foundation video. Why the top comments are so outraged by the coverage is making my eyes water. You don't have to buy it, Lancome has like a million other foundations, this is smart PR I guess.
@Salman-hu2jk7 жыл бұрын
sorry smoked a little too much.. the bottle isn't plastic.. it is then placed in a typical Lancome bottle.. a circle within a square. you can't put that giant thing in the shaker machine and have it smash into a million pieces.. ffs you guys :' :'''')
@jaispeaks45967 жыл бұрын
Salman haha dude, pretty sure the black was actually very very dark blue which gets diluted when mixed with the other stuff. straight up black runs the risk of making the overall color flat. I totally agree with you about the whole thing being really interesting. i know a bit about color theory in relation to skin tone because I paint a lot of people and from an artists perspective the color matching and blending stuff is more exciting to me then the foundation itself
@mariahunt3177 жыл бұрын
Salman how do they check the colour? Same way scientist always have 😂😂 the instrument used would send through a wave of light and read the colour (or light) that the skin gives off. Also it's really not hard to blend colours, not sure what kind of artist you are but from painting faces, skin colours are really easy to make and tweak!
@Salman-hu2jk7 жыл бұрын
I don't know who spat in your coffee today, but this is my opinion. Telling someone you "don't know what kind of artist they are" because you are not as excited is not nice, Maria. Also, using dark with light is hard to blend. I know foundation shades don't have the same consistency as acrylic paint, but when you blend black (or dark blue ^) with any light color, the final result and go south easily. I don't paint faces, I paint canvases and my sister works with a lot of vendors for labs who make foundation.
@Salman-hu2jk7 жыл бұрын
Also, there is more than one scientist and more than one form of technology. As I said, I wanted to know what kind exactly, if anyone would be so kind to provide.
@alaina56107 жыл бұрын

I would very much like a video from home explaining your thoughts on this product. For example, quantity versus price. There was not enough product in that bottle for $80. Straight up. Also, you shouldn't have to pay the $80 every time you want a refill. It should be dropped to the $40-$60 range. Now putting that aside, I don't believe you were being fake. There is a certain professionalism that you withhold in these situations and that is what separates adults from children.
@amysvideologs7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's one thing to have a bitchy/sassy online persona but if you've been invited to a brand headquarters for them to demonstrate a new product for you, you have to be professional. Otherwise you'd come across as rude and being straight up rude to someone's face when you're both working isn't cute or funny.

PSA: full coverage in the makeup world does not mean heavy makeup. Full coverage means "highly pigmented." It looks sheer or light coverage because ppl are so used to full coverage foundations looking like someone has a heavy mask on. That's what makes this foundation so great is it appears natural but by definition is full coverage.

I went to get color matched, but they gave me so much shit about my makeup and were so rude, when i was talking to them about needing a foundation for oily skin they just straight up acted like they didn't hear me. So rude. Plus after shopping on Sephora online, my card got hacked. 🤔 i dont fuck with Sephora anymlre

I don't understand why it wouldn't. The area they scan isn't *that* big, and they can scan your neck as well. Or are you wanting to cover up your freckles? Because if that's the case, you're going to need either a really high coverage foundation or do some colour correcting.
@zoierice41097 жыл бұрын
It's her skin, she can do what she want's with it. It's like when I had super long hair, and people were always like "No, don't cut it it people do all kinds of stuff to get hair like yours," and I'm just kind of thinking you know... It's my hair, I'm the one that decides what happens with it, and I will do what I want with it, regardless of what other people think and wOwza this ended up longer than I meant lol

nina linu shit she was annoying me ! She must have thought she was in a class teaching. Shes doing a little too much of pumping up the foundation....if this is anything like teint el dole " foundation" im not even bothering. I was wondering why it didnt provide coverage for my skin. When i looked at the bottle to find the shade, I had found out that its not even considered a foundation!!! Its a tinted sunscreen! I was so pissed...50 bucks for sunscreen is ridiculous especially when the coverage is only 15% !!!!!!! I have a very good facial sunscreen I had found at Wal-Mart for 8 dollars and a bigger bottle!
@jasminbatzin33216 жыл бұрын
vanessa issaka you sure you didn’t try the Tient Miracle?. The two bottles look similar, only Tient Idole is a full coverage foundation and Miracle is a light to medium coverage. It could have also been the particular shade you chose because the lighter the shade the less coverage it actually gives you.
@richiesmom126 жыл бұрын
Teint means tint and foundation just means its worn under makeup, so a tinted sunscreen can be called foundation. Any product that says "tint" should tip people off that it is not a full coverage foundation but something that has a tint to it
@amb8177 жыл бұрын
I mix every time I wear makeup in a cushion foundation, but I also mix in sunscreen and moisturizer along with 2-4 different foundations to make my right shade, coverage, and finish. This is interesting and probably pretty accurate, but Lancôme is up there in price and I have to stick to drugstore
@kelleya67027 жыл бұрын
ambdance00 I find this comment very interesting and was just wondering what your foundation cocktail is made up of. I personally am a drugstore girl myself. And am always on the lookout for a good affordable moisturizer too. Thank you in advance 😊
@amb8177 жыл бұрын
+Kelley A I'll mix a matte foundation with a dewy one, then customize my right shade if it's still too light. The sunscreens I use is either the Coppertone or Neutrogena face sunscreens. Also the moisturizers I use is St Ives Timeless Skin or Cetaphil SPF 15. All of those are very affordable and my makeup lasts all day
@gabrielleflewelling89437 жыл бұрын
For the price of four foundations from the drugstore, you could go get shade matched from sephora, get some samples of good foundations, and buy one that works for you. Maybe not the one that's $80, but still.
