Were his running shoes similar to a "tennis" shoe? They looked kind of flat soled? Curious? Am I mistaken?
@pedalman11 жыл бұрын
Wow you are very knowledgeable its good to see that it has reduced from 5% to 3.6% looks like the Armstrong effect is having some results.
@pedalman11 жыл бұрын
Ok its down to 3.6% in pro cycling , what does that figure mean ? Is it 3.6% of the pelaton or is it 3.6% of all drugs tests ? It is still a small percentage because many people are saying that every pro cyclist is doping, so with that percentage that is patently not true.

RemixBrian is right. There are specialized shoes that you are supposed to wear that don't require you to wear socks. Every second is precious in these races and if that could save him 20-30 seconds he should have done it. Maybe in a Half-Iron race its less important, but in a sprint or olympic its crucial.

Haha when lance grabbed for his shoes he's like where's the blood transfusion?

Todo mundo corre dopado: Ulrich, Beloki, Vinokourov, Contador... LANCE es el mejor, pues los demás también corrían dopados y nunca fueron capaces de emboscarlo...

I recall a good video by Greg Lemond who said he saw guys climb the Tour de France mountain stage and not even look winded...EPO...no achievement surprises me with PEDs..

How do you know for sure Lance doped, or doped for all his triathalons, and similarly, how do we know that you didn't dope?
@Gingersnap2723912 жыл бұрын
lance knows what he is doing and you only need it clipped if you are riding
@pedalman11 жыл бұрын
How many riders were caught doping in 2012 and 2013 ? The Festina scandal was caught immediately and the whole team was disqualified. Pre Indurain it was mostly a few team individuals, not full teams. Post Indurain EPO was rife ( Armstrong era) They started testing for EPO at the 2000 Olyimpics but it took time to perfect the testing . 2012 and 2013 was probably the cleanest tours since 1998.

You mean baskets instead of click pedals? That would mean that you'd cycle with your running shoes, which would be disastrous as the sole is too thick and would absorb too much energy.
@dsdfsdable12 жыл бұрын
I ran 29:56 for 10Km without doping. I wonder what Lance wounld have done without doping?
@pedalman11 жыл бұрын
I did not say doping didnt exsist before Armstrong, if you understood properly I SAID PRE INDURAIN, it was just less prevalent back to 1886 and drugs were a lot less effective. The reason I mentioned recent tours was that the winners won clean in 2012 and 2013 history will prove this even if you cant bring yourself to believe it now. The post Armstrong era has got doping at the front of everyones mind and it might just make riders realise that you will get stripped of victories when caught .
@epiplp611 жыл бұрын
Even with the doping scandal I still have to the give the man (and anyone who competes in full or half Ironman) props. Who in their right mind would say yes, lets do a couple miles OPEN WATER swim, then hop on a bike and do another 112 miles and end with a marathon. For everyone who gives him grief because he was doping, go do that and then tell me you don't see the possible benefit. Seriously, go now. I do triathlons and I still think the Ironman group have to be a little insane.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

I'm not an expert on this, but if I remember correctly a racer only gets penalised if he\she rides the bike without helmet. I acted according to this on my last race with no problems.

Ah ok - must be different rules then. Under ITU regs you can't even unclip your helmet until your bike is racked. It's a penalty if you do.

Lance did what he did to win. Despite that, no one can deny he's still a hellava athlete! He betrayed a public trust (and trashed a few people along the way) but the doping and drugging of pro sports has been happening long before Lance came on the scene. And will continue as well.

What does it matter if the winner dopes or not! I said "The whole sport of cycling is infested with cheaters!" Wether they win or not doesn't matter, but every year someone is caught cheating/doping. Compare that to other sports. Cycling is by far the most doped sport there is! That is proven! You're argument are faulty "This was not the view of cycling before Lance Armstrong" is completely wrong. I gave you plenty of examples, and I can give you more.

It has decreased over the years, and the Armstrong scandal has made the numbers plummet but it's still the most doped sport and that's pretty sad cause I really like cycling. I just don't like it professionally. But as the science moves forward it won't be as easy to dope. I kind of understand why they do it. I mean, if so many in the sport are doping, to even have a chance you have to dope yourself. I believe that's the mentality of people. "if he can then I can".

@pedalman11 жыл бұрын
Yes cycling has had its share of doping over the decades but they were mostly "give it a try" individuals who got caught . Armstrong damaged cycling in a way that all the others put together could not do. That is evident in your last sentence, you are now convinced that there isn't a sport in the world with so many cheaters. This was not the view of cycling before Lance Armstrong.
@HaasGrotesk11 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry that your beloved sport isn't what you thought it was but again. You are completely wrong! I don't know where you get your facts from, but it's seem like it might be your ass. What you said is far from the truth! Every sport has doping tests on a professional level, and cycling has 3.6% positive test results following weightlifting at 3%, boxing at 2,9%, triathlon at 2,7% and baseball at 2,5%. This is from a 2013 study! It's 3.6% right now but 2004 it used to be at 5%. Sorry.

Will someone please delete this video? Triathlon doesn't need any association with this disgrace of a human being. At one time, I held him up as my hero, & inspiration, & if it had been a one-off doping incident then I would have forgiven that ... but it wasn't!! It was planned, systematic & long-term. THAT I cannot forgive!!
