Hey Lance, Since 2017 I have been roasting at home but only the past 2x years have I begun to really understand extraction theory and roasting science thanks to people like yourself, JH, and Virtual Coffee Lab. There are a few other great channels but these are my go to channels for information. I feel there is so much focus on brewing but not so much on the actual understanding of what each country or region has to offer taste wise. It would be so helpful to have almost a list of the flavor profile from each location. It also would help to know how to pick both green and roasted beans. I have seen your video where you brew a coffee you do not have info on. What makes a bad bean? What countries have a fruity profile, which ones have a chocolate profile? Is South America more like chocolate and is Africa more like fruity notes? How can a roast profile bring out certain notes? How to roast a light roast without under roasting and how to roast dark without burning? Hopefully these ideas will help. Thank you so very much brother. You are awesome!!! Much love from Japan. Ps you should cone to Japan and see our coffee culture. I'm in Ishikawa, hit me up ill take you to a cafe!!

@LanceHedrick if it's non homogenized or a more fat rich milk, you can have the cream separate out. Depends on your milk. If you're shopping at a grocery store you mostly don't have to worry about it at all though.

The tip on viscosity is helpful. I live in Finland and sometimes I really struggle to make good art with super light roast Scandinavian coffees. I’ll pick up some traditional dark roast next time and see how that works - with a ristretto shot for good measure

Thank you for doing another latte art video. What a great excuse to go back and watch your first video along with your friends videos as well. I think you reminded me not to feel so bad about my attempts especially since no one will see mine so I should probably just focus on other aspects so I don’t have to waste so much milk in the process of learning art while I’m still dialing in my machine and finding which roasts I’m ok with spending money on. I don’t remember if I already asked, but I would love a series of videos that you release before the holidays for people either interested in giving a coffee machine as a gift or how to figure out if there are modifications someone wants to spend time and effort on.

Love what you’re doing Lance. I have been struggling getting my base set. The milk isn’t incorporating in with the espresso so you get a canvas that is half brown and half tan with some milk streaks in it before starting 😂. I’m sure it is texture related but maybe just technique? A larger pitcher would help but my gosh slow pour has been out of stock for what seems like months now on most of their round spout pitchers. Thanks for being that humble teacher who is easily relatable! Great work my man.

Looking for a grinder mainly for pour over. I´m thinking of the Lagom Mini or the Ode Gen 2. I have a C40 which I use for filter and I love it, but the handgrinding every morning isn´t that great... Ode would be nice to have more burr options to play around with. Tasting new flavour profiles is always nice. I already have an espresso grinder, so this is not a main focus. But the Mini (it´s all around package) is so appealing, especialy the build and formfactor! Taste wise, the ZP6 could be interesting, but handgrinding, so... I would be happy to hear any experiences or advices. Thank you so far!

I own a izpresso j-max but am considering another grinder strictly for filter. As much as I would love the comandante, I realistically cannot afford one. My main question is if you think buying another grinder, such as the kingrinder k6 is redundant or a step backwards to the j-max.

I have the most priblem with knowing when to stop aerating the milk and start the swirl. It seems many of us have that issue, but not a lot of concrete advice. I find that since the milk rises as I aerate, I find that the milk "tells me" when the milk starts to swirl without lowering the wand, the milk has risen enough to lower the tip a bit for the full swirl to start. Does this track?

We make two lattes every morning one milk and one oat.. pretty tricky going between the two. Then we have two different machines, the ECM synchronica at home and the Breville DB at camp both using Eureka grinders.. it’s tough switching between each from steam perspective too! I’m exhausted just reading this comment sorry! Please make some merch and I’ll buy some from Canada 🇨🇦
