The Lancia Fulvia 1600 Zagato now has perfectly shaped new bodywork thanks to the amazing metalworking skills by Adrian and Sam at Prestige Refinishing, who have created beautiful new body panels out of flat sheet using mainly hammers and an English Wheel.

This is why we need to invest in apprenticeship’s in the UK, in not many years time skills like this will be lost for ever. A joy to watch 👍

Sadly there's probably work for 10 craftsmen like this in the entire country, and a modern vlogger blabbering over a wrap and phat pipes will get 1000x the views this will.

As a craft trained aircraft apprentice it is something you learn in the four years it takes to qualify. English wheel or hammer and buck, leather bag and mallet it’s all good. You can do anything if given the time and respect for the time to get it right. These skills are ridiculously under appreciated and now rely on the crazy patronage of wealthy owners otherwise they would be lost for good.

To echo some of the other comments on this video, what an absolute privilege to watch a master craftsman turn a flat sheet of metal into a curved bodywork corner panel for the rear of the Lancia Zagato. Not only that, Adrian did it twice, by hand, & they were exactly the same shape/curvature, but handed........... AMAZING! This is my favourite of your 3 ongoing car restoration Harry & I can't wait for the next episode.....hopefully it won't be too long!👍🔥

I have watched in awe of such amazing skill hat was present in that body shop. I just hope that such skills are passed on to a new breed of panel beaters as to be able to fabricate panels to that standard is awesome. Harry you do know that your car will look better than when it rolled out of the factory as a brand new vehicle.

I must say that the world needs craftsmen/artists like these guys. It really is as pure a form of artwork as sculpture. Harry however proves himself to be ‘The Man’ yet again by being such an integral part of his projects, footing the bills, and more importantly recognising the esoteric value of his projects. I’ve been riveted to this restoration from the start - such a wonderful undervalued little car I suspect that this Lancia is a keeper! We’ll done Harry and congratulations - get the finger out though because I cant wait to see the finished article!!

It’s amazing how far the special effects industry has come and how anyone at home such as Harry can now create such realistic imagery using tools such as Adobe After Effects, etc. This is so good that for a moment you believe that such a magician exists and was able to make those panels up using nothing more than a hammer, English wheel and lots of skill. Mind blowing.

Everybody is impressed by seeing these craftsmen at work, creating new panels with such skill and aplomb. I completely agree, but I’m also excited by the study of the lines and shapes of the car. Ercole Spada was an idiosyncratic genius, and these fantastic films are revealing the care and attention that went into the forms he created. Superficially a simple teardrop, the shape is actually a confection of swages, creases and curves, all of which flow together beautifully. That said, there are a few inconsistencies, particularly in that ruler-straight cantilever of the sills, but they’re all part of the car’s character. I’m really enjoying this deep study of Zagato’s creation. The Fulvia Sport has been overlooked for far too long - hard to believe the design is over fifty years old now - but you’ve shone a new spotlight onto it, and given me, a life-long devotee of the Sport, a new appreciation of it. Thanks Harry.
