What MG could only have dreamed of when they designed the original car! These restomods take cars up to the next level in engineering and reimagine the car as a modern car. This car is so tastefully done, it is so elegant, yet a muscle car in disguise too! One of the best MG's ever done! Congrats to the owner of the company for keeping these incredible sports GT cars alive, and then taking it to the modern day excellence they have engineered into this car. Only a fortunate few will be able to own one of these incredible machines.

This is always been one of my three favorite vehicles of all time. When I was four or five years old, my dad had a 1969 MGB GT with a Ford 289 V8 and a four speed top loader driving a Ford 9 inch in the rear. It wasn’t as refined as this vehicle is because my dad built it by himself in the backyard. But it was fast and it was perfect in the British racing green with the black vinyl on the inside. I’ve wanted to build one myself for many years. But now I’m 50 years old And a single dad to a four-year-old with ASD. Anything I want is a pipe dream anymore. Service episode was a moment in time for me.
@jmike893426 күн бұрын
I know EXACTLY what you meant by that last sentence. I'm a few years behind you but growing up my dad also had a Ford V8 powered MGB GT though his was a 67 RH drive as it was package deal for the main car he bought out of England which was a '54 MG TF 1500. He said he immediately knew he wanted to make it like a Sunbeam Tiger so he found a 4- Speed Mercury Comet to donate it's drivetrain which was the 260 V8, not sure if it was a 9". I was in my mid 20s before I learned the details of the GT because he had sold it before I turned 10 and I had all but forgotten it until he sold his TF and I happened to ask, "Didn't you have another MG at some point or is my memory off?

I drove an MGB GT back in the late 80s. I loved the car, it was comfortable and drove really well. The only problem was it constantly kept going to the mechanics for various problems. After multiple expenditures and trips to the mechanic, I decided to get rid of it and get another car. I wish I had the money back then to maintain it, but as a young person, just starting out, I couldn't keep up with it.

I saw this particular car at the Radnor Hunt Concours D'elegance in September, and I've been following Frontline Developments for years. A better choice, IMHO, than Eagle's various E-type restomods in that they're not as flashy or expensive. Yet they're so versatile, from a track weapon to a grand tourer, to an urban/suburban runabout. Superb! If I won the lottery, but didn't want to move out or expand my modest-sized garage, this would be my dream car for all-purpose. My only other temptation, although at twice the price as this, would be Cyan Racing's Volvo P1800 restomod that JLG recently featured. I would bring them a 1970s ES model wagon for similar treatment.

My first car in the US, in 1989, was a 1972 MGB GT in baby diaper brown - before the 74 1/2 rubber bumpers, but after the pretty pre 71 grilles. I didn't know MGs existed until I bought it. It never ran right, but I managed to swap the head gasket in the driveway, making it temporarily run better. The starter connection would randomly fall off, so I'd often have to turn the wheel left and reach into the wheel well to plug it back in. Locals couldn't make sense of it, and some thought it was a Porsche. So much fun. If the Frontline was more affordable, I'd order one.

I wish I had that kind of money to spend on my old '90 Subaru Legacy wagon and someone who'd do that level of work and I wouldn't think twice about what other "better" vehicle I could have spent that on instead and I'd do it even if it meant I couldn't afford any other car.
