This video has made me want to join the Police more, I’m currently in the Course of Public Services as well on my last year, The only thing is that I don’t have my drivers license yet, and to apply for a Police Officer you need to have a Drivers license otherwise you can’t apply, That’s why after College I’m gonna go for the Army join my Service there, Then after I’ll probably Apply for the Police as I really love seeing videos of The Police it gives me the Passion of joining the Police Force, With that being said Amazing video, Ma’am! First of all being specific to UK police! Not saying all officers are like this just my personal experience (I've lived in Suffolk, Hampshire, Dorset, Gwynedd and now Lancashire specifically in Burnley). But personally out of the places I've lived Burnley police along with Bangor Police (Gwynedd) have always been the best ones whenever I've had police interactions with as a witness, couple times as a victim of crime and a lot of times as a initial suspect, never broke the law btw just seem to have the ability to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong appearance 😅 Very helpful when I needed help, and very relaxed and pleasant whenever I've had to give a witness statement or been stopped as a suspect. Again not saying it's always the case, as there are proven cases where it has been the officers that are the problem, but won't lie I often wonder when people talk about their negative interactions with police how often it's a case of them putting themselves in that situation by being a pain in the ass. NO NOT saying the police should be able to punish someone for being annoying! What I'm saying is when you have the people who've been roughly arrested and then chucked in the van or taken to a cell till everything's been cleared up just from my experience and how I see people interact with the police I'd suspect at least a good chunk if not a majority of those times it's been from people refusing to identify themselves & getting aggressive over how they don't have to identify themselves/let themselves be searched when they're a suspect. Because you're a suspect the police want to detain you till they've confirmed you're not. But cause you're getting aggressive and acting off they're concerned you're gonna get violent or run away, when they go to arrest you you start resisting and acting wild which means they got to restrain you which is often unsurprisingly pretty rough. Then you're chucked in the van or taken to the station till it's all cleared up. All of this could of been avoided if you just answered their questions and if they asked if they can search you you let them. Like in my experience just like every other human they react based off what energy you give them. I've always been pleasant (not ass kissing but just talked to them like I would with anyone else), answered any questions they asked and the couple times I've had them ask to search me let them get on with it cause as far as I'm concerned I got no reason to refuse as I've got nothing to hide. And because of how chill I've been they've always been chill with me and even the times I've been searched I've never been handcuffed. Just one guy gently resting his hands on my shoulders from behind while the other guy searches. So yeah he's ready to slam me in the ground if I try anything 😅 Which is fair as while at that point they kinda know I'm not who they're after and are pretty relaxed at that point I could just be very good at manipulating people and actually pull something out on them. Yes I get you can argue about what rights do they have Vs you have at that moment. But to me if they're stopping me as a suspect they got their reasons to suspect me. So I can either be polite, put them at ease (which in turn puts me at ease as I know at that point this isn't gonna escalate), tell them what they want to know, on the rare time they want to search me let them do it cause I'm not hiding anything and then be on my way after 5min without any unpleasant experience. Or I could kick up a fuss over nothing, p*ss them off, get p*ssed off myself and turn what should be a chilled 5min experience into a multiple hour, unpleasant ordeal that just results in everyone having a sh*t time. I know which one I always pick 🤷 I think people need to give police more respect then they're currently getting and if people who are innocent stop trying to get tiktok famous or just generally being a c*nt unsurprisingly less people will have negative interactions with police making it easier to identify the actually bad officers and give more value to the negative claims against individual officers and make them more likely to get spotted and punished. As right now they can hide among the other officers easier and make it murky on identifying the truth as we live in a time where everyone has an issue with the police as a whole and I'm sure a large number of good police are often getting complaints against them. Where if you have a department getting very few complaints as a whole but then there's one specific officer consistently getting complaints that stands out like a sore thumb. Easier to identify and as the department has a good public image they don't want that ruined by one officer so they're gonna do thorough investigations on that officer and get rid of them. That's my rant over.

@@a-khanation5279 That's just not true though, there were plenty response officers in panda cars, how do you think they transported the suspects and got to calls? But there were also a lot of beat patrols as well due to a focus on community policing.

Burnley police once attacked me in a prolonged and sustained attack with batons, cuffed behind back then kicked in the back landing on my face. Still cuffed at the station the desk sergeant gripped and squeezed my windpipe for looking at him. My crime I hear you ask. Questioning why it needed 8 police to pin a small skinny 18 year old kid face down with his arms up his back who had had a few to many drinks. Yay come on join Burnley police and you too can treat innocent members of the public like this.

Ive been thinking about joining a gang something like the hells angels or some other motorcycle gang but ive decided to join the police force instead because the police force are the biggest criminal gang in the country ive got all the qualifications eg.arrogant,compulsive lier,think i’m above the law,and suffer from several mental illness’s,personality disorder,psychosis and im a very aggressive person so hope to be with you soon with the boys in blue.

You are very correct! DO NOT TRUST THE POLICE! I was attacked in the street last year and have permanent loss of vision in one eye. Burnley police initially contacted me to say my attacker had phoned to apologise, (a confession!) but when I said i would'nt be accepting an apology due to my eye damage they changed their story and told me it "wasnt in the public interest to prosecute my attacker". This is despite having a letter saying its been recorded as a case of "ABH" My attacker now threatens to kill me everytime he sees me in the street and tells me "Burnley Police have said we can do anything we want to you". I believe him. Burnley police then sabotaged my Criminal injury claim by ticking a box to indicate i have a criminal record when i DO NOT! DO NOT TRUST THE POLICE! TOGETHER WE CAN DESTROY THIS EVIL IN OUR COMMUNITIES!

You do NOT require a degree to be an effective police officer, it's a complete waste of time. You need good communication skills, to be pragmatic, have plenty of common sense, and life experience. The Public Sector have gone down a blind alley by making the role of Paramedic a degree level qualification, and it's pointless for policing too. The fact that somebody barely out of their probation is out on patrol singly crewed says it all- the resource levels are extremely poor and officer safety is compromised. I stuck it out for 16+ years and despised it for the most part. Anti-social hours, arduous, stressful, endless mindless form filling, no support for frontline staff from senior officers- aka 'Chairborne Forces,' who sit in the Ivory Tower making ever increasing demands from the comparatively small number of staff who actually go out and police on the frontline. The pay is to put it politely, 'mediocre.' The job revolves around dealing with constant negativity, spending a disproportionate amount of time with social class 5 benefit bums, and emulating a piece of plasticine- being pulled in fifteen different directions simultaneously-IE being run ragged by the DCR- Divisional Control Room bouncing you from one job to the next. Don't expect to have your hour break very often to eat, you will routinely be turned out to a job. I recently met a guy at my circuits class who worked in the same division as me. He got to 20 years service and simply couldn't stick it any more- he took voluntary severance pay and had never looked back. Think LONG and HARD before you apply to join. Do LOTS of research- speak to serving officers with more than 2 minutes service! Speak to people who have done 5-10 years plus. Many of them will warn you off I guarantee it.

Being singly crewed does worry me about joining, as you do just get chucked in at the deep end. It doesn’t fill me with confidence as a potential officer, or as a member of the public. It’s also a full 3 year degree on top of doing the job, working shifts, etc. I’m 33 and to know I wouldn’t even be qualified until I was 36/37 isn’t great.
