This is so true. I sent a thank you note after an interview as if I got hired and they actually hired me.

I never would have guessed a thank you made that big of an impact; I always knew it was recommended, but didn’t think it was THAT important.

I don't even know if I even need to say this anymore, but to add to your advice about thank you notes: write a thank-you EMAIL, not a thank you card (a physical one to be sent in the mail). When I graduated from college in 2009, the advice at the Career Center gave out at the time was: "Always send a physical thank-you card in the mail, that makes a better impression." I don't need to tell you how outdated this advice was, even back then, and I believe it cost me many job opportunities (because I listened to it 😢). While you're waiting for the post office and then the mail service of that office to deliver your cute thank-you card to the manager (which probably takes 3+ business days), the manager has probably received a thank-you email from another candidate on the same day of the interview, and probably has already made the decision to hire that other person.

Yes! I actually address this point in particular in the video I refer to at the end!

She does address this in another video. :)

It’s different now, I had an experience where the interviewer joined via a link and I didn’t have contact with her .

Glad I clicked on this video, I had a phone screen last week and didn't think to send an email afterward. While it wasn't 1 day afterward, it's still a good reminder that I'm interested and to thank them for their time.

Thanks Cassandra!, LOVE your content 🙏. A Quick question........if you have an initial zoom interview, and then get a second panel interview, do you send a thank you for both? I'm assuming yes ,but wasn't sure 🤔🤔🤔

Hi Cassandra, Thank you for all ur videos, they are so helpful. I need ur advice on a particular situation. I used to work at a senior role with a descent pay. I currently don't hav a job and all the jobs that are in the market are with low pay and looking for people with less experience. I have no issue taking up those jobs coz I have bills to pay n the cost of living has skyrocketed, but when the recruiter asks me if u get selected for this job and after a month if u find a job with a high pay, will u leave this job? or if they ask me y am i applying for an entry level job when i hav years of experience, what should I say? I cant say look I have bills to pay, just give me any job. How should I approach this question?

Great advice! What if you were interviewed by two people? Also should you cc the recruiter/hiring manager ? This is for an internal position

Hey, I start my first job orientation in a few hours, can I please have tips, I am extremely nervous, and to much of a perfectionist, which affects my ability to be sure of things they tell me to do.

I’m not sure about this one. I send in a Thank You, but just a little later, it’s followed up by THE REJECTION letter. And in the rejection letter they don’t even acknowledge getting my thank you letter. My last position I held, I forgot to send a follow up letter, but I got the job. So, I’m not really convinced about it. But, just to be sure, I do send out my Thank You letter, whether it works or not 🤷♂️

Hello Cass. I have a question: i did not get selected for the interview round but I know for sure that I am a fit. Would it be a gauche step to send the TA team a thank you email for the time taken to process my application and wishing them best of luck with who they choose while reiterating my passion for what they do and that that going forward, they can preserve my cv for similqr jobs?
@CassThompsonConsulting Жыл бұрын
IF you have access to them personally, I don't think it can hurt. Make sure to keep it brief! (Also, LOVE that you used the word "gauche"!

@Cass Thompson Career Advice the email is a no reply but a quick search online gave me their names. I'll just tell them thank you, good luck and I'm always interested foe future opportunities
@frankiezzzzzz100 Жыл бұрын
That’s true nothing wrong with thanking the interviewer for there time. It might hurt you or help you regardless it doesn’t help. Some interviewers don’t like it because they might think your your just saying that to get favor from them to get the job or some might say wow that was kind and appreciate you for it. But as long as you do it for Jesus Christ the Son of God who died for the forgiveness of our sins was buried and raised to life the 3rd day by His Heavenly Father,than it is all worth it.
