Land Based Fishing | Brighton & Sandgate Foreshore

The Brighton and Sandgate Foreshore provides some of the easiest and best land-based fishing on Brisbane's Northside. The mouth of the Pine River meets the Brighton foreshore, and it is a plentiful spot for catching Flathead, Bream and Whiting. Bait fishing is a successful method from "the wall" but I prefer a more active approach, covering ground with a jig head rigged soft plastic.

Excellent Video about the simplistic way one can go for a fish hunt - locally - and enjoy the outing without to much fan fare or hauling long distances to hunt target species. Good work. Keep it up.👍

hey will great vid cobber , people used to take the piss when I was casting lures and softies down there , ' to many rocks mate ' , used to plead ignorant and say yeah probably from th old church to the pier was gold

I remember ol Gordon from tw Sandgate followed me down to the bend just around the corner from the pier after telling the flatties were on , always around mothers day got 39 fish 40- 45cm in a week only took 2 that week for a feed , always go down around the same time of the year to get my Mum a couple for mothers day without fail in and out in 45 mins need a catch for beer brother @@WL_Outdoors

I flick hard bodies from the church to the jetty I fish light braid 4 - 6 lb braid I remove the belly hook & up grade the rear treble hook.

Thanks for the deml what's possible in our own back yard. Always good to find local spots. What trick did you use to get him to release the hook at the 9:40 mark? Seemed he almost swallowed it... seemed too easy to get that hook back

I like lightly weighted (1/16oz or 1/12oz jighead) 2.5” soft plastics and also small hard bodies such as the Atomic Deep Crank 38.
