What's better than having an excavator, skid steer, (on the way) tractors, trucks, trailers, saws, sawmill, wood splitters, unlimited firewood, hunting property, UTVs, every other tool and a loving go with the flow wife? Having a neighbor with a You Tube business who owns those things, the work ethic and loves the work using those tools! Like a friend with a boat! lol

Made a 6ft wide rake out of a I-beam using .5" plate steel 12" long spaced 6" apart welded inside one side of the I-beam. The four teeth holes on the web were cut out to match the teeth on a 2' wide bucket. It is held securely in place with a chain over the back of the bucket and is removed quickly with a load binder. works really well and is much cheaper and quicker to change out then a root rake attachment.

Looks like fun! However, I see a lot of chain sharpening in the future... rolling all those logs in the dirt is going to leave a lot of grit on the logs. That grit will dull the chain while bucking the logs into firewood rounds... 😉

Hello Morgans and friends. 60 degrees and rainy here in Missouri. Suppose to rain for the next two days with flood warnings. Last year, I had a buddy of mine clear out the area in front of my house of all the thorn bushes, thickets and small trees. Planted a few pine trees for cover for the deer and this year I am going to plant some berry producing plants.

love doing this kind of stuff. I spent 2 weeks last of Feb, beginning of Mar clearing out dead trees, deadfall, vines, fences, junk piles and old brush and dirt piles along the creek that goes across front of our property. Custom built a 48" wide rake attachment and raked all of the woods area along the creek and really cleaned all of it up nice, then final graded it, planted grass in the field and clover & wildflowers in the woods. Burned up majority of brush/trees and now have 1 pile of unburnable roots/dirt/metal/etc... to haul off but ran out of time before having shoulder surgery last week. Hopefully go back up there this weekend and see everything sprouting. I could do this stuff all day every day. Come to think of it, I do, hence the shoulder surgery...lol. Next up, clearing area and building my own gun range.

@@chris3m98 no, injury is from long term use and abuse from using a limb saw. once this shoulder is good to go, have to do the other shoulder and bicep tendon, too. Should be fun. been trying to put in gun range for 2 yrs, just couldnt get to it. trying to re-prioritize projects to use equipment more and body less for a while.

Cool work on that patch of woods - lots of firewood and saw logs in your pile. Kind of taking it easy today while it decides whether to clear up or storm. I cleared a couple three acres of locust sprouts in a patch of the pasture this morning before the rain, then finished a 2x6x12” block of old (as in, old as me!) red oak to mount to the balusters and then mount a flat screen swing mount on in the cabin. Thus recovering the real estate on the table! We did get the ballast in the right rear tire yesterday and the neighbors and I got the now 500-lb tire/wheel mounted back on the tractor. That’s been a need for some time. Always lost traction in the right rear first. Fun and games on the western Ozarks farm!
