Great video. I have two acres I've been clearing and have been thinking about getting a grapple. This is helpful.

I am definately envious of using a grapple. I have a couple of older vintage Ford tractors, but nothing easily capable of mounting a grapple too. My grapple is my two hands. lol I had to clear a few acres before we built 25 years ago, and more recently, cleared a small field we take hay off from. The most recent effort involved using the tractor where I could, but a lot of it done by hand. I would tend to clear an area, hauling off firewood and piling brush where I cleared. When weather allowed, I burn the brush in managable piles. The ash from the piles proved beneficial, in addition to getting rid of the debris. In most instances, I cut the stumps flush. If it was soft enough, I might take an axe to is to be able to get it below the surface. The original stump grinder... The area around the house, I just accepted that the stumps would take a little time before I could take an axe to them, so I just mowed around them. In the hay field, if cut flush, I could get a sickle mower over them. If brush hogging, which I did for the first year to encourage grass growth, that was a little more forgiving than the sickle, and went right over the flush cut stumps. I think I am on year three on the hay field and some of those stumps seem to be breaking up on it might be time to try an axe on them now too. A far cry from blowing stumps with dynomite like my grandfather did back in the day, but it proved to be pretty effective for me on our acreage. Best of luck.

I think it was only 77.6 hours. If so, that things basically new.
