Nothing like having a good collection of equipment and tools to help clear land. I just cleared about 5 acres acres with a JD 3025 & grapple, bush cutter, Stihl chainsaw, and an Echo string trimmer with a 7” rip saw blade on it. I need to get a stump grinder like yours. Thanks Tony.

The stump grinder is the final part of my wood clearing operation. We are clearing 8 acres, and we are putting trails through the rest. We will use these tools to maintain the property until I can't.

❤️❤️❤️You give me hope with my family’s Century property. We’ve been battling all things thorny for 18 years by hand; chainsaws, various loppers, pole saws, until 2 weeks ago when we got a tractor with several attachments. Now we are hearing Deff may not be easily available in the near future. Can’t run our tractor without it and since it doesn’t have a long shelf life, can’t stock up. 😩I used to get overwhelmed until I learned to look at it like a puzzle; 1 piece at a time. Happy clearing!

The land will go crazy fast. This land was cut about 20 years ago, and land management was not on their mind. It has grown up with all kinds of invasive tree species. We are clearing out all of the invasive stuff and giving the native stuff a chance to grow. Most of our land will still be in forest, but with the right kinds of trees. Red Maple use to be common here, but now they are rare. We planted a few around.

I envy your accessories. They’re not only practical but a lot of fun, not to mention less wear on your body. I did a similar but far smaller project some years back with a chain saw, a 4x6 trailer and 2 ATV’s. Yours is the better way. Like the highlights, too.

I know I should wear chaps with the little saw, but I have so much more control over it. I am not a great safety role model, but the big saw will get through my leg quick. I ordered me a 92cc chainsaw with a 36" bar. I have some big trees to take down. Full on safety with that monster.

Nice equipment setup you have there. Suggestion: Leave post trees in the grapple at a comfortable height over your scrap wood area and cut the ends off. No reason to drop the log on the ground, strain your back stooping to do the cuts, pick the post up again, go stack it, go back and pick up the cutoffs then go drop them. Takes a lot less time that way...plus no chance of your chain kissing the dirt. Don't ask me how I know! LOL

Brad, I have two big Cedar trees in this area that have to come down. They are at least 100' tall and big enough to go on the sawmill. I will have to wear a respirator while cutting them, because I am allergic to the Cedar sawdust off of the Sawmill. It is very fine dust. The last time I cut Cedar boards, it almost put me in the hospital.

If the manufacturer is not willing to give us that latitude then we pass.

Our property timber was cut about 20 years ago. The owners at the time didn’t seem to care about land management. They cut almost everything down. we have had so many invasive species pop up. We are trying to cut back the invasive species and give the native trees a chance to grow. We have planet several Maple trees, and we will plant more native trees at some point. A couple of hundred years ago, our whole area was primarily trees. Poison ivy was very rare because it couldn’t get high enough to get sunlight. We have our work cut out for us, but hopefully, we can leave something better.

It is much cheaper for us to buy the equipment and clear the land as we go. We are clearing and cleaning an 8 acre area. We are leaving the rest in trees, but we will cut trails through this area too. Like most people, we have other requirements of our time, so owning the equipment allows us clear land in the evening when we have a few hours. We bought our tractors to work and do this job. Your circumstances may be different, but this makes sense for us. A plus is, we get to keep the equipment. I am well versed in the mulcher videos. LOL! I watch them a lot.

@@TonysTractorAdventure We purchased 51 acres, 56.3 are pine wooded forrest. 5 are cleared. We anticipate a sawmill and clearing trees. We also will have pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. for agriculture we will fars 3-4 acres and plant fruit trees on about 4 acres once we clear some of the forrest.

Perfect. Your place sounds fantastic. In TYM, I would recommend the T474, T494 or the T574. Sometimes the T474 is on the edge of the tractor's limits when we load giant Oak. My TYM tractors have been very reliable, but there are a lot of other brands too. I would say with the information I have; you would want to buy a high 45+ HP up to a high 50HP Tractor. If you get too big, it will be hard to get around the woods. If you get to small you will struggle with logs.

Pigs and goats would clear the underbrush with much less effort on your part.

Pigs and goats are work all by themselves. The pigs tear everything up while you find the goad standing on the hood of your tractor. I grew up on a farm. No thank you.

That's right! My wife changes her mind 6 to 7 times per tree whether we're going to keep it or not. It is comical sometimes.

You are speaking out of ignorance. I went into the Army with $5 to my name. I raised a family, had a night job, and went to college, became an Army Warrant Officer, all at the same time. If you want new equipment, go get it. Still, you can do everything I did with used equipment for under $15k. Bonus, you keep the equipment for other jobs. I didn't get all of this at one time. I made smart decisions by buying along the way. We bought the land almost 5 years ago. It took five years to get to this point. The destination is not important, the journey is! Plan for the future but enjoy the day.

@@TonysTractorAdventure sure sure. 15k for wood chippers, tree shears, grapples, stump grinders, and a tractor with third functions, rear remotes, and enough hp and hydraulic flow to run it all. But hey! Paint sure does look nice on all that "use" equipment! Lololol.

I would hate to live like you. I wish you the best and hope a positive attitude finds a home in your life. P.S. I didn't say you could buy everything I have with $15k, I said, you could do everything I did with used equipment.
