Mark a line with a paint pen vertically on the steering wheel across the nut & steering shaft so you can easily put it back on in the same place & even get the nut torqued back to where it was.

Good idea mate. On some cars there’s quite a lot of teeth on the spline where marking with a paint pen, texta or even a scriber is important to keep the wheel straight. On the Cruiser the spline is pretty course and much easier to get right. I really should have mentioned it though. Next time, thanks for the heads up!

Where about are you? If you just search for it on eBay, there’ll be options. Depending on the options your truck has, there is a couple available. Most of them just have a single stage airbag and no steering wheel controls for radio or trip computers. Some have 2 stage air bags and the new models have all the steering wheel controls so are slightly different.

Does it matter if the tab pulls out completely? Mine is the same as this but it pulled completely out instead of breaking off

@@nathanhampton5711 no mate it doesn’t. Some pull out completely, others snap the lock off. As long as it’s turning and not scraping on the inside, you’re good to go
