It's also a really smart idea to use a dab of cavity wax on everything you're bolting on. That stops the otherwise inevitable rust between, say, washers and the chassis.

A lot of these ex military chassis do seem to last well, l would have power washed inside the chassis then injected wax after the powder coating was done.

So take everything off the chassis, sand blast it and powder coat. Hardly a masterclass in chassis refurbishment is it? The title promises much and, while Edd's explanation was top notch, it does feel like the title was chosen by a used car salesman.

I’ve found out what a bug out vehicle is but I can’t understand the need for one. I presume this video was made in the USA so it must be something transatlantic . Ed please explain to this mystified Anglo/ French fan of yours.

Powder coating looks good, but simply isn't as hard or durable as POR. This is not just my opinion (although I've been using POR for 25 years). Multiple independent tests have confirmed this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5iXZ4yLpNuDi8U Power coating works fine until the first stone chip. Then salt gets in and the whole messy rust process begins again. Smart people first spray on POR, then several heavy coats of quality truck bed liner. That makes a pretty impregnable barrier to rust.

I agree, after all that work he put in taking the body off you need better than powder coat, galvanized would have been my choice

Edd China, over 800k subscribers with millions of views for his work. Mine Brewer not even 10k subscribers and a majority of the comment's people are posting on Mikes video's are in defense of Edd China. Edd in my view has come across online as very respectful and none aggressive nor is he insulative towards Mike or anybody else on the old show. Edd has also come's across as a very genuine and reasonable guy in all my searches online and I haven't witnessed a single video of him slating or slandering his ex wheeler dealers partner Mike. Personally I think regardless of what has happened between you two, you Mike have massively let yourself down. You've let your emotions run away and you've let rip how you feel about Edd online and it's seems obvious your intent is to damage his image and reputation. It's very sad to see as it makes people defensive about Edd as he clearly isn't attacking you back. I've seen about 5 video's now of you being nasty to that man and he hasn't responded back to you in a nasty way at all. I'm rely disappointed Mike because it's just childish for you to do this and your a grown man for god's sakes. I'd even go as far to say that you even come across as a bit of a bully towards Edd in your videos and truthfully, I can see why he left the show and am glad he did. Overall, I feel personally as an old school fan of the show, Edd did come across in my eyes as a little bigger than the show, not by his own intent or desire to be, but by all the respect fans generated towards him for his creative professionalism and for the way he helped us all learn about mechanics. I am sure a majority of us were super excited to see what Edd had to say much much more than the easy bits (Let's be honest) the buying and selling parts. Overall it just seems to me that your jealous over his personal online social media success and popularity perhaps that's why you tried discrediting him. I'd say 800k followers for him and less than 10k for you makes it clear to me that he was bigger than you on the show. Again it's rely sad Mike. You've got your own show now, you have your money but nothing matters more than your personal ego. If you were the bigger man in this, i'd post a video apologizing for all the crap you've said about Edd online and try and regain some integrity. Sadly, I think your a stubborn man with little time for forgiveness. You cannot expect people to stay working with you in a show purely because you wanted it that way, you're not the wheeler dealers mafia boss are you? "I'll character assassinate you if you leave". If you were so good then why was the show apparently destroyed when Edd left. You say he is "just a mechanic" so why didn't you just find another one right away instead of taking a break for years sobbing about how Edd apparently ruined your life because he choose to leave the show? I thought you said on a previous video that you believed that Edd thought he was bigger than the show? Then why didn't it continue right away after he left? If he was small fry then why did the show collapse for so many years after he left? Anyway you found another Mechanic and you restarted the show so why all the nastiness? Be the bigger man Mike and apologies. You once had a great friendship together, would they ever be a time in your life to forgive and forget? Life's too short for this don't you think?

Mike doesn't need the views, he has a series on television which is watched by a vastly larger audience than that which watches Edd's KZbin channel. Edd is doing it for the money, Mike is just doing it as a complimentary aspect to the TV series, as he gets paid more than enough for the series alone. You are comparing apples to oranges here. The situation between the two of them is theirs to sort out and it is private. Edd didn't like the way the show was going and quit, he wasn't sacked. Then Ant came along and now Elvis, the show still has a massive following and is going just as strongly as ever. Ultimately, what you think, what I think, doesn't matter. Either watch the show or don't. The amount of viewers WD gets is large enough as to not miss or be bothered about some disaffected individual, who simply cannot accept the situation and move on, especially after all this time.

WD posting an old vid of Edd working on a Land-rover at a similar time to when Edd is producing his own show where he works on a Land Rover feels like WD are trying to cash in….if that makes sense. Basically WD is a shit show now:

Again Mike with its not about the money !!!! 😂😂😂 $4000 profit, such a bloody liar Mike. If you work on a $85 hr rate for a mechanic and Ed put in 65 hrs, that equates to about $5000 which is never calculated into the sale price that Mike asked for, so where is the profit coming from ????
