The absolute worst issue with my 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 SE P400 has been the unnecessary wind noise. This manufacture defect has caused issues for many Defenders. great video! I've been wondering what that noise was for 2 years and the dealership was dismissive when I raised it with them 18 months ago. Question: What's the spray that you use to clean the plastic before you apply the 3M tape? blue pray can. Thanks!

Question - I have a new 130. I have the wind noise on the Right side a pillar at high speeds (70-80) and esp when it's windy outside, like a big crosswind. My question for you is this something that the dealership would fix for me? Also, is it common to have leaky window wind noise on the drivers side rear window? I notice it by my left ear, almost sounds like the window is just slightly cracked. no water leaks though. Curious if you know anything about this. I have not gone back to dealer about any of this yet. Thanks for the video

I'm sure it is all coming from the A pillar wind noise, they should fix it for you for free it just might not fix it completely!

@@MuMsk-jq2ie nope, i took it to dealership, and they resealed the a pillars and also changed out the window seal, but exactly the same. I haven't taken it back yet to have it looked at, I just deal with it, but it's annoying. Like the window is cracked or the door is cracked. next time I'll ask them to change the door seal, maybe that will help?

Nice fix but maybe use less 3M tape? Some unsuspecting windshield replacement person is going to end up damaging the covers when they don’t come off as expected. I see some new pillar covers in your future as with annual windshield replacements becoming the norm due to the never ending barrage of rock chips in this vehicles with more upright windshields.

3m couldn't be any easier to remove, it's not an issue at all.

Well, I was of the same opinion, said to myself that will be a pain to remove and the windshield repair man will be expecting the panel to slide down as it did for him. That's when the don't care factor will take precedence & the panel will end up damaged as it's forced off. I'd try it with just foam tape with just one side attached to panel, leave the red strip on to stop it adhering to the windshield as that would stop airflow & vibration noise. Just what I'd tried first.

It appears that you have basically permanently attached the A pillar covers with the 3M tape. How can they ever come off now? If you need a windshield replaced how can these covers be removed?

Yes it’s just 3M, easy to take off!

The manufacture noticed it well after production and send out a fix to all dealers. It was just too late haha!

I was looking into the old one, but there's a lot of noise-it’s truly a car for campaigns, expeditions, work, etc. During a test drive of the new model, it was amazing, but I didn’t hear this noise, probably because the test was close to the dealership. I’ll make sure to test it more thoroughly next time.

I have this extremely annoying wind noise on the passenger side even driving at 25 m/h i tried duct tape just to check if it will stop, but it didn’t… ? if the tape didn’t fix it I’m wondering if your solution will.. I will appreciate it if you have any other suggestions to fix this

I believe it will, I don’t see how tape could hold it secure enough to supress the noise. Definitely worth a shot, that noise iss as horrible haha
