Harper, just want to say thanks for all the tips and advice. I recently reached out to a local detailer offering to take him out to lunch in return for some small advice as I start out with my business, and he left me on read. Glad to know there are good people in this industry!! You rock!

As always what a wonderful job. I know how tough that metal flake finish is to work on. It really makes it difficult to see your work. After seeing how you were doing this comes spring time I'm going to try this on my Harley. Some years back I had a major repair and the dealership thinking they were doing me a favor polished and detailed the bike. When I got it back there's all sorts of swirl marks in the paint. I have tried different things and different products. Every time I think I have it I can see the swirl marks in certain light. So this time I'm going to check my work as I go on and even use a electric buffer. Also great job and not letting the cold weather stop you. I'm on the east coast of the United States and right now it's 14 degrees Fahrenheit 10 degrees Celsius. That's just a little too cold for me even in my garage. That's why I said I will try the way you did it in the spring. As always I enjoyed your video and of course I hit the thumbs up. I've already been a subscriber so I cannot hit that button again. Look forward to your next video.

Thanks David! Metallic paint is a dream to work on; it's the solid finishes which are very difficult! What combination of pad and compounds/finishing polishes are you using? I'm used to the colder weather now, but it sometimes makes it testing. The polish reacts differently in the cold and coatings can be left on the panels for longer so there's quite a few things to think about. Thank you for subscribing, i'm glad you find the videos useful!!

@joelreith41582 жыл бұрын
Actually I think they're more satin.. Ignore me haha
@HarpersCarDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man 👍🏼 Yeah the wheels are satin so these brushes are fine. They would be a little too aggressive on gloss black, but pretty much anything is! You look at gloss black and they scratch!

Great vid, what are all the polishers that you use, and how do you rate them?
@HarpersCarDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Shine mate ex620 and their 3 inch. The 1 inch is a A1000. I use a Vertool forced rotation as well. Really rate them all. I use to use Rupes but in all honesty I prefer these
@nickychavda2 жыл бұрын
@@HarpersCarDetailing Cheers, How is the 620 ? Would you say its good still for a weekend warrior like me or is it too powerful ?
@HarpersCarDetailing2 жыл бұрын
It’s very good. It would be really good for you. You can adjust the speed with the dial, the actual power just means that it doesn’t stall as much on curved edges which would be great for you 👍🏼

Tell me, how long does this paint correction typically last? Do the swirls and imperfections eventually come back? Thanks for the info :) nice work 👍
@jaaphoogendijk6712 жыл бұрын
Swirls and scratches are put in by wrong maintenance. If washed perfectly, swirls will never come back and paint correction is not needed ever again. However, in real life, when maintaining a car properly, polishing every 2 years after claying will prbably be necessary. In the end, it all depends on how you wash and dry it, and whether there is need for claying.
@HarpersCarDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with @jaap hoogendijk here. If washed correctly in theory you won’t have to machine again.
