Another great video guys... As you make some really good items to enhance the Range Rover, it occurred to me that perhaps a good product would be a "window" in the timing belt cover to view the condition and perhaps read the information about the belt age etc as you pointed out in the video,, great piece of research info...

I watched your wonderful video because the bolt on the accessory idler pulley broke, fortunately did not come out, I heard it touching the fan, and I had to take the front cover off. Anyway, after reassembling the Performance Restricted lights come on if I rev past like 2500 rpm.

I am impressed talking about the water pump pulley bolts “PCD” - you’d only get that from a British educated engineer ! ( or an engineering book reading numpty ) no offense. I was genuinely impressed. I’m not going to educate anyone else by saying what it means other than to say the p is pitch. Mostly used in gear cutting terminology though

Hallo, I have Disco 4 3.0 euro 5 and I want to change the glow plugs. I have a problem with the oil separator, I must just pull it out or unscrew it ?? And another question, I must unscrew the injection pomp to remove last glow plug ???
@JS-lb6gp5 жыл бұрын
Well done! And thanks for the video. Would that be the same procedure for a disco 3 tdv6? And is it not worth it changing the water pump as well?
@pauljackson62905 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Sanchez I would be checking the oil pump. The belt tensioner bolts to it and the earlier ones had a week pump causing the tensioner to snap off, causing engine failures.
@L6635 жыл бұрын
Yes the TDV6 was 90% the same from memory - it was the same lock tool kit for sure ! Water pumps dont seem too much of an issue - but some 2.7 engines you need to change the oil pump
@billytremoloband74563 жыл бұрын
Defo do the water pump as the bolts on them sometimes just brake off! I’d recommend replacing water pump bolts and tread lock and torquing them! (Former JLR tech now self employed).
@billytremoloband74563 жыл бұрын
And also dont forgot replacement of the oil pump as they also fail causing the belt to fall off and righting off the engine in the process...! 😢

Question - does the transmission need to be in neutral before starting? I'm thinking I might not be able to turn the engine over (at the crank pulley) if it's still in park? I'm about to tackle the 3.0D in my XF S jag - looks like the same motor to me. And a great video by the way. Big help.
