I leave the seat in, just open it forward, and it fills in that head space nicely. Then I just add a pillow in between. FL2 makes a very comfortable car camper for me. 😊

What do you mean by "open it forward"? Mine seat opens also but 90º lifted vertically behind the front seat but I still have this rear seat with impossibilities to have a comfortable head space. Is there any other way would you recommend?

If you lift the seats upright and remove the headrests the back will fold flat without removing the seats
