You totally saved me with this video, was struggling to get old needle roller out, and would have stuffed the new one, if I had not have watched this. Thanks

The inner oil seal on the rear stub axle which way does it face? with the solid part facing out or with the groove facing out to where the oil will be? The other one has the direction written on it but this one has nothing.

Great videos! Am looking to overhaul my rear axle soon (90 puma). Am going to fit new stub axles while i'm at it, online resources are saying that all '07 onwards 90's have ABS stub axles whether the vehicles have ABS or not, are you able to confirm this..? Mine is non-ABS so my initial thoughts are that my stub axles don't have the ABS hole..

Hi Trailerfitter, thanks for these videos as they help a lot. I have one question: you mention somewhere that is important to put the right amount of shims on the external bit of the axle, just before the final circlip. How are we supposed to measure the right amount of shims? and why it is important for this gap to be measured? Thank you.

Hi there, As usual I am finding these videos a great resource. My stub axles are discoloured where the bearing sits so I have opted to replace them. Have you come across this before? I wonder what would have caused it?

Discolouration could be from fretting which is small particles that have corroded onto the stub axle. Nothing to worry about unless it looks like it had had a bearing collapse on the stub axle. If there is no wear it is good.

Hi. I find every job I do on my Defender, I always end up watching your videos. Much more helpful than Haynes manual. Anyway I have a couple of questions. I have a Defender 110 Td5 2002. I've ordered a stub axle kit and bearing kit from Bearmach. By accident I've ordered the old Defender stub axle but this fits exactly the same. Can I use this or am I better to order a newer one? The old stub doesn't have the bearing. What's it's purpose? Also I've got two hub seals in the bearing kit. Which seal is best RTC3511 or FTC 4785??
