Land's End - John o'Groats | Wild Camping Cycle | Part 1

Land's End to John o'Groats (LEJOG) is a cycling challenge that takes you across all of Great Britain - from the Southern tip of England to the Northern tip of Scotland. For some reason, we decided to attempt it by mostly wild-camping!
This video should go into enough detail to follow along yourselves, so it's also a guide to the journey too.

I watched these videos a few weeks back, and I've just rewatched them again. Great video's. I'll be doing G to L in 5 months walking and dragging a van tyre. You had some great tips in the vid's which will really help me. Ty Dom

I'm very interested by this idea - I've never heard of a tyre-drag run before! If I see a grizzled hiker wander through my town with a massive wheel, at least I'll know what's going on 😂

Years ago, I stumbled upon an article called "How To Wild Camp Anywhere For Free And Not Get Busted", written by a compatriot of yours. I've always found it interesting to see how others apply the idea in practice.

After doing it a few times, I think you'd need to try quite hard to get busted. If you pitch up late and strike early, I find most people won't go out of their way to challenge you

@@StatusMirror very true. A ranger did question me once after noticing my flashlight as I was trying to pack up before dawn. He became nicer when he realized I was with a bike.

That's definitely the way to do it! We did stop mentioning the "schedule" in the later parts - taking it day by day was much better

Aha you got me! There were a few legitimate wilderness camp spots in this trip, but most of the time we were pitching up in farmer's fields. It would be hard to construct a route which ended every night in a national park, or AONB. That route would also be very hilly
