So sad that she has just been left this way. She could be such an attraction for the town of Harbour Grace.

They did paint her up a number of years ago. While it's starting to fade again, she's nowhere close to this condition. That said I'm pretty sure she's classed as a hazard structure wise. They cancelled the Swim To Kyle events, and it looks like all the ropes and ladders has been removed. It seems the town of Harbor Grace don't want nobody on her anymore. At this point the radio tower has completely collapsed into wheelhouse. There are plenty of 2017-2018 drone videos showing the Kyle current condition. I to wish she'd be kept up, but realistically it probably would of cost to much. At the end of the day it's probably best she ended up beached where she did. At least a few new generations get to enjoy the sight of her, and her beaching made her probably Newfoundland's most famous shipwreck. Had the Kyle not been beached, then it's highly likely she would of been sold for scrape by now. With how old she is maintenance even if she did still work would be crazy expensive now, also she's a stream boat which means to have been kept in operation, the Kyle would of needed a overhaul to have been converted to diesel. And honestly the Kyle might not have been worth it. Sure bigger ships like say The Olympic or such, 800-900ft ships that carry a couple thousand people, ships like that would be worth a overall. But a smaller 200ft ship like Kyle that doesn't even carry passengers anymore, I honestly can't see it. If the Kyle hadn't wrecked then she'd probably been sold for scrape long ago by now. And if not scraped, she'd probably would have been sunk on purpose to create a marine life reef. Either way had Kyle not ended up where she is, I believe she wouldn't be around today.

Man it's been so long since I seen the Kyle.I used to go about two to three times a month. So sad to see how it is now.

Does anybody have information on the experience of travelling on the coastal boat from Trinity to St. John's in 1900?

I wish I know someone who would make me a model of the Kyle
