Yeah ngl I feel a bit bad for her watching (not finished) but it is what it is Don’t come out into public spouting things you don’t understand to people who do understand while they know they’re filming - seems logical to me Best advice is to remain inside or come out and enquire nicely to find out what’s going on and then leave when you’re given a reasonable answer - any concerns ring 101 for advice, no emergency here If I went up to someone stood outside drinking coffee looking at my building and told them I was concerned they were drinking coffee looking at my building, they’d laugh at me - if I rang the police, they’d do me for wasting their time Ignorance of the law apparently isn’t a valid defence unless you’re a copper… Edit: oh, she’s security - thought she was a normal employee, no excuses and no longer feel bad 😂

I have most respect for auditors, they do a great job, but DJE does seem to fly in an unsafe manner on many occasions. The speed at which the drone is moving at low altitude along the building, gimbal pointing down, out of line of sight, that was dangerous. You wouldn't see a telephone line or similar, gets wrapped up, falls on mate walking down the path then CAA uses this as a reason to put more restrictions in place. Tidy up DJE! You have the potential to be a great auditor, but your flying is letting you down.

Great to see the old chocolate and cream AEC railcar (nicknamed flying bananas) in the shed by the traverser. I believe there are only 3 left in preservation from about 40ish produced. They were built in the 1930's and 40's and worked main and branchline duties into the 60's carrying passengers and parcels and were sometimes used with a coach. The latter ones did about 80mph. DB is Deutsche Bahn the German national railway that later rebranded as DB Schenker and then DB Cargo UK. They bought out EWS (English, Welsh & Scottish) and progressed from there. I believe some of their old class 66 locos still have the EWS livery. There was a class 60 and class 08 in EWS livery at St Blazey depot in Cornwall until a few years ago but I've not been there lately to check. They are/were used for the Imerys (previously English China Clays or ECC) kaolin (china clay), ball clay, and other minerals movement around St Austell and beyond. As a seperate piece of information, the engine drivers on certain Cornish routes receive extra training because some of the branchlines still use the old semaphore signaling. It's a land lost in time.

In some respects I feel sorry for some of the security as they are only told what procedures and policies are, I can almost certainly guarantee they are written by somebody who has absolutely no public interactions and then just sent out for some poor public-facing member of staff to try enforce on other people. Because most security are not really trained to think about things but to instead follow a procedure they end up looking like fools merely for following the protocols they are told must be followed. Like the security lady said: “Our procedure is to call the police” so unless they can say with 100% certainty that everything is fine they have to ring the police. It’s not really an issue if they are ringing and giving accurate information as the police can then decide if it warrants a response or not. I never saw police arriving so I guess if she followed procedure and phoned the conversation may have gone: Police: How can we help? Security: There is a guy standing outside flying a drone to make a video and our policy said we must contact yourselves. Police: Is he entering or attempting to gain access? Security: No he is standing outside and just flying the drone. Police: Is it a large commercial drone or one of the small drones used by someone as a hobby? Security: It looked like a small hobbyist one. Police: That is fine, people are allowed to fly them so don’t worry. If they personally try to gain access it a restricted area then call us back and we will send resources. Have a good day.
