When I was younger people had a more open approach to what was allowed and what was definitely not allowed. Now we get situations where certain people know something is legal but they want to discourage it and so they say not allowed because it carries that doubt in some peoples minds that they may end up in trouble, and it’s the lackey mentality when told by their senior managers to lie that they then feel it must be that they have to follow policy rather than the law. I would like to point out "It Is not illegal to record audio anywhere" When you have meetings ask for their name. Only started watching your videos, and you made a very very valid point at the Stevenage Council, what if someone is brain damaged and needs to keep a copy of their meeting the public needs to have means to keep a memo/recording etc. this also goes for people with mental health issues who can be coerced or someone trying to change the narrative. I am in a big complaint against my GP because I told her I record my phone calls even to NHS, and she said that she will connect NHS to the people I am in contact with and tell them I record phone calls. I did tell her it is not illegal to record calls but she shouted at me to get out, Unfortunately for the GP I was audio recording our meeting as I do with all meetings I have.

It always amazes me that these people are so convinced that they are right and that TLA is wrong. So TLA tries to show them the memo of their own policy to help them understand photographers rights and they always say NO I DON'T WANT TO SEE IT. Because obviously in their deluded little minds they honestly believe that they are right. So they then call the plod. Even the plod read the memo. Then the plod leave and TLA is still standing there.
