This is the plane I have been wanting. I was given a single prop plane when i was doing my pilot training by my grandfather (it was his cruising plane) it was a nice cessna for sure but this is my dream plane. Maybe sometime if your ever in the area you could take me for a flight and let me test fly it lol

Great video you do an amazing job filming and editing your videos! You’re an amazing pilot and I love the Vision Jet! She’s a beauty! Like I’ve told you many times if you find yourself at KOJC, KMKC, KMCI, or KIXD hit me up I’ll meet you at your plane and take you for some Kansas City BBQ or a steak! Beautiful approach there amazing airmanship!

Superb video! I'm instrument rated but don't remember this procedure. If ATC clears me to change to advisory frequency during my approach but I'm still on my IFR flight plan, do I have to still listen to ATC? Vision Jet looks very cool, but the cabin looks a bit "pregnant" and the engine looks too small, like a pulse jet on a model plane. The placement of the engine looks a little like an afterthought. As a whole it looks more like a recreational jet than a business jet. It looks _different_ and I like it but am critical. I've heard it flies like a dream.
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes, if on an IFR flight plan and ATC clears you to go to CTAF than you can do that. You have to eventually cancel the IFR flight plan with ATC either in the air or on the ground as soon as reasonably possible. Your other comments were subjective. Why don’t you look up VeriJet and see what kind of business they have created around the Vision Jet. I fly for several business use clients as a pro pilot. You need to understand the efficiency and practicality of a single engine jet to understand the Vison Jet’s place in the very light jet category. It is not intended to compete with jets in other categories and is essentially alone in the VLJ market in terms of jet still being manufactured. Specs and mission for Vision Jet will show it more likely competes with single engine turboprop aircrafts but it is capable of around 315 TAS in cruise.

I’ve been in this situation and I’ve straight up asked the guy in front of me if they were going to be a full stop or touch and go. Nice landing. By the way, what is the minimum speed on the vision jet that you could’ve done on final?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we can ask but the point is the onerous should be on the pilot landing to state their intentions not those in trail to ask. Just lie its bad form to ask “any traffic in the pattern please advise”. Threshold/landing speed is about 85 KIAS in Vision Jet but the approach speed is between 110 and 125 KIAS until a five mile final normally.

Man, that is such a nice bird. Such a neat and clean designe. A beautiful cockpit. What is the service ceiling and top speed of the Vision Jet? Love it!
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael! I appreciate you watching! There are essentially two generations of the Vision Jet now…. My plane is a generation 1 airplane so it’s limited to a service ceiling of 28,000 ft. I regularly see 295 to 315 knots true air speed in my jet. The generation 2 and 2+ jets have a service ceiling of 31,000 ft and have about the same top speed performance.

@@DonAv8s thank you for getting back to me with all that info Don. I seriously appreciate it. 28 thousand feet is pretty darn impressive and same with the airspeeds for what seems to be a pretty small jet engine! Fantastic.

@@MBdrummer3288 Hard core people say it’s just turboprop performance and they are right but it’s a ton better with the forward visibility and everyone faces forward. Thanks Michael!!

Nice video Don. I have from the beginning of my rating training always swapped my right GTC with my left at start-up so that my radios are right in front of me. It looks weird to see you reaching out to the right for your radio. I wish we could set-up a preference so I wouldn't have to do the swap every time.
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Casey. Yes, I used to to that. It’s a technique that’s well known. Now only do it when there is turbulence. That ways it’s easier to key frequencies in the bumps. I like PFD control on GTC1. It’s strange controlling the PFD from GTC3 to me. In essence, the logic is crossed in my mind.

I love the cockpit of this jet, especially the joystick flight controls. However, the asymmetry of the control layout bothers me because I'm right-handed. If I sat right seat the majority of displays and controls would be a bit of a reach.
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
Are you a pilot? As you probably know, most aileron and pitch controls during left seat operations are done with the left hand. Throttle is controlled with the right hand. Your opinions are fine, but I would recommend you actually look inside the cockpit and realize it’s quite different than think.
@troyezell5841
@troyezell5841 2 жыл бұрын
@@DonAv8s I understand that perfectly well. I am not speaking down about the plain, I was merely making an observation (because I did look in the cockpit) about the cockpit and the position of the displays and controls relative to the right seat. The Vision Jet uses a joystick control rather than a typical yoke. I like joystick controls.
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
@@troyezell5841 I also fly in the right seat on occasion, I am familiar with both configurations. The three touch screens are called GTC’s and the functions of the left and right GTC’s can be swapped. Normally Comms are on the right GTC and PFD control such as OBS are on the left GTC. Those can be flopped. The plane, as most are, was designed for the pilot to fly in the left seat. My indirect point earlier was that even though most pilots are right handed, they can fly left side stick with minimal adaptation since most yoke controls are made with the left hand. Moving from standard yoke to a side stick is amazingly easier than you might imagine.

Maybe I need to explain what was happening at the 1:25 mark of the video so it makes sense. We were on an IFR flight plan at that time and just switched to Boston Approach Control from Boston ARTCC. The initial call was our descent information, that we had information for the field and “expecting” a visual approach. Current AWOS weather information received in the air was that the field was VFR and suitable for visual approach. The approach was flown in VMC conditions and appropriate for the conditions.

why are there no rudder inputs from the pilot ?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure of your question actually. Of course there are rudder inputs. The requirements with single engine centerline thrust eliminate P factor and left turning tendencies. The plane has ruddervadors which is a combination of rudders and elevator in the V tail design. This also reduces the need for large rudder inputs.
