Takes one's breath away. The slow descent weaving through that valley is military flying but in an airliner. The bank so close to that hill at the end of the runway before straightening and immediately dropping to landing hight is bush pilot skill, again in an airliner. No wonder the pilot of the A319 taking off in the July video blasts up and out of that valley as steeply as he can go. Respect to the captain!

Notice the Terrain and GPWS sys switches OFF. Also APU running with APU bleed ON. Visual approach with FPV only. That’s the way to go. Auto thrust was ON. And the pack flow was low (maybe not that many passengers).
@FlyingDragonPilot3 жыл бұрын
It’s a procedure to have Terrain&GPWS system OFF during approach once visual with the terrain. Secondly APU and bleed were ON for approach since we were on Max Landing weight and any go around or in case of single failure would give us a good climb rate, the approach is always auto pilot off with FPV as u mentioned. Auto thrust was left on to make best use of freebies and pack flow was left to low since it was a cargo flight. Good observation by u there!!!!! Good day!
