Landing at World’s Most Dangerous Airport ~ Paro, Bhutan on Airbus Aircraft |

Paro airport is considered as one of the most challenging airport in the world for the commercial jetliners to land.
The airport is located at an altitude of 7364 feet above mean sea level with runway elevation of 7362 feet and 7310 feet respectively for runway 15 and runway 33.
The runway length is 7431 feet ( 2265 meters) and width is about 30 meters which just covers the minimum runway width required by ICAO. ( one factor why Paro is considered one of the most challenging runway to land for the pilots)
Note: All Airbus aircraft are developed based on 45 m wide runways because it reflects the most frequently used runways by Airbus aircraft.
All flight and simulator certification tests linked to directional control on ground are performed on 45 m wide runways.

That is such an easy approach and landing. Tried it on my Flight Simulator...only took me 37 attempts to make a successful landing.

Nop, they didn´t. It was a normal approach for landing on the 15. It looks crazy because they follow the river and sometimes it is breathtaking how narrow they pass the mountains. But the airplane needs to approach without steep curves which would be more dangerous and would frighten the passengers.

Yes. They fly over the runway at 2500 ft and lower their landing gear. That's their downwind. Their base is the 180 back to the airport. And the "clear to land call" from the tower is as they start the U-TURN 😂

In a different video I watched the captain (and it might have been this Capt - there are only a handful certified to fly into this airport) talk us through it… it was fascinating - “wait until you become parallel with that house with the green roof, then turn xx degrees and line up with the end” (paraphrasing of course)

It goes over the airport and then turns 180 degrees before landing. It seems that the pilot's skills are really great. Anyway, I wonder what the route of that plane is.
