Just as remembered it . Great video . Lived in peru for 2.5 years . This is great information. PS. Tip . Make sure all your foreign money is in perfect condition. Any tears or marks will be difficult to change unless you go to main bank in capital. Enjoy Perú everyone

once exiting the gate area it’s usually roped off to give arrivals the space to exit. The airport is always packed. super chaotic and overwhelming. I’ve never seen it empty like this.

I can say that it is too expensive, the taxi from the airport to Miraflores is for a short stretch that can be done along the coast, then a climb to that district, I am from Peru and it seems excessive

Having been in Lima, married to a local, I can say the Taxi driver ripped you off, it should be around 20-30 soles for the trip to Miraflores, 50 soles is usually to Ventanilla (where I lived)

At the security before you enter the rental car. Did you hit a button on the bag scanner and it lit green for you to pass??

No, everyone needs to put their bag through the scanner, once you do that you’re done

There are direct flights from LAX to LIM with no stopovers needed

Yeah, but only with LATAM Airlines. On the other airlines you have to connect in Atlanta(Delta), Miami(American), Panama City(Copa), Bogota(Avianca) or Houston(United).

At this time you just need a passport and boarding pass to enter and leave. I just came back the other day, was my third trip there. If you're planning on staying there or working there then you may need a visa.

If traveling alone yes. I went to colombia by myself a couple of months ago when I was 16. I had to have a letter from my parents letting me go outside the country and once I'd arrived in Colombia they asked me if I had permission from my parents to be alone over there, and show a proof of a NON-STOP ticket back.

If you stick to Lima proper and Miraflores, you should be fine since it’s very tourist friendly. Good luck!
