Thank you Captain for sharing this. I'm from Catanduanes and have friends who have experienced having their flight turned back to Manila. So this is the reason pala, one friend even got so pissed off and posted on FB his frustration. According to him the runway was already visible but the pilot got so scared to land the plane. I'm an avid watcher of Aircrash investigation and I always trust the judgement of any pilot of the flight i'm in. Catanduanes is very vulnerable to weather changes. The wind there is one of a kind. Kaya pag uuwi ako dun, i always pray for the weather to be fine, for the pilot's expertise and for him to have presence of mind. This video is so informative, two thumbs up for you Capt.

Wow thank you po for featuring my hometown Catanduanes, last Jan.3,2023 galing kami diyan, then balik ng Manila ng Jan.7, napaka unpredictable po talaga ng panahon sa aking isla, kaya nga bago kami lumipad I keep on praying na umayos ang panahon at wag ma delay ang flight namin dahil very limited lang ang time namin, kasi mga ilang wks.before yong may concert dapat si Moira sa Virac, pinayagan sa NAIA umalis ang ang flight pero nong lalapag na zero visibility na sa isla kaya bumalik na lang ng Manila. Praise God nong flight namin, kahit umuulan-ulan hindi nag zero visibility.

My father was a rarity- old and bold pilot, as spinoff from being a fighter pilot. He will land the plane when F. Bangoy airport would be closed from limited visibility, using dead reckoning and triangulation, the storage tanks in Sasa as reference on final.
