An excellent 50th instalment, I liked the 787 C/B explanation, I enjoy system explanations on aircraft I am not licensed on, my types and the aircraft you currently work on don’t overlap. Every time you show the 737-800 and even the 737-8MAX flight decks I see many features that were on the 707-300’s that I worked on when I started my career in the 70’s. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on the big five ohhhh! Been here for every one. When you pause to show us the sunrise, sunsets or the beauty of an airliner taking off, you mention the importance of enjoying those moments. I get that - BIG time. July, ‘04, the last I remember was driving south on the 515, Las Vegas to Boulder City, and waking up two weeks later in an ICU on Nellis AFB. ( The Mr is an Army Vet) I’d been bit by a mosquito on the 3rd of July - yes, in the desert. It was infected with West Nile Encephalitis. It nearly killed me - one little bite! 2 weeks in a coma, 5 months of hospitalization and my left leg is still paralyzed and I’ve got some brain damage…BUT…each and every day is glorious and awesome. Oh boy, Stig, do I ever enjoy each and every moment. That was 20 years ago, now I’m 66, and every day I wake up is an amazing blessing. Take care, be safe and I look forward to every adventure here. 🙂❤️

@@StigAviation Thanks, I am enjoying retirement, but do miss the people at the airline. Thanks to maintenance techs like you, I always had a good aircraft to fly. With lovely sunrises, we begin the day shift! My engine has legs, what sort of mad science is this! I love the 787 aircraft pages. Stig wants the propeller logo, so do I. Thrust Bump aka "Warp Drive" was introduced on V2500-A1 equipped A320s for high density altitude airports, like Las Vegas, which would be payload limited on a hot day. I was next to the runway in Las Vegas when Frontier 1326 landed last month, and I saw the RAT was out. Not every day you see a plane on fire, and the RAT out. It was neat to see it up close here!

I remember that, I think it made the news

@@StigAviation Yep, it did! I happened to be there with my Nikon camera, I'm pretty sure my pictures made it on the news too. They're in the NTSB preliminary report as well.

There were many times that Bumping the A320 was the only thing that could get me out of PHX on hot, hot Summer days, We had Bump on the old A320s with the A1 engines.
@StigAviationАй бұрын
Those old A1 engines were definitely very inefficient. Thank goodness they upgraded to the A5’s.

Hey, can you make a video about your career and how you got started? What is it like to work as a maintainer? Do you work 5 days a week? Do you choose what airport you work at? Do you have a specialization such as avionics, electronics, or airframe/powerplant? Great videos.
@StigAviationАй бұрын
I’ll put together a video talking about how to get started within this career field., I have briefly gone over it past videos. But I’ll do a more detailed video in the future
