As a former airline captain I would like to complement you on your ATC skills. Top notch! One thing that our training flight department (KLM) was always strict on: reply of the Pilot Flying on (automated) calls and readouts. e.g. five hundred would be answered by cleared or standby. TCAS resolution should always be adhered to and announced to ATC : TCAS climb. There's no such thing as ignoring a TCAS resolution. Safe flying to you sir.

Another excellent infight video Greg. Well done!!! Seeing the TCAS system working was very interesting. There was some amount of traffic around your aircraft during that approach. I felt a little nervous especially when we saw that aircraft below and to the side of you. It would be nice if you were able to inset the PFD/NAV with TCAS to the left side of the video for us techno geeks to view for the entire flight, but I understand that this would probably require two seperate cameras and mounts to achive this and perhaps a fair bit of editing work for you too, but I think it would look pretty cool and I think us data geeks would love it. Maybe a future idea for you:) Have you ever made a video of your walk around of the aircraft as it would be interesting to see what checks you do externally and I'd love to see a close up of the landing gear, engines, or other externally accesible systems on your aircraft. Looking forward to the next video. John Morrison

Hey Greg, I'm a young old man of 81 who really enjoys flying and you have made it possible for me to fly to and from so many places. I enjoy your style and am learning also a lot more about flying. I can't wait to do the next trip with you. You see as a retired person I have very little to do except to go walk in the park. You have made it possible that I don't have to be a millionaire because you have given me your time and you spend the fuel money. I hope others will join in to see what fun it is to ride with you. Thanks for being you, and sharing your experiences with us. I also am happy to know that you were a military pilot before and I can see that that experience has molded you into what you are now. You are great! Paul Addison Wilhite

Not sure if you know, but they took you on the bravo transition. There's a manmade lake on the Firebird Raceway right near where you were at the 20 minute mark and that's the start of the bravo transition. They then fly you north straight over the threshold of the runways in use. If they're using the 25s and 26 like they were in your case then they put you on the east transition. If they're using the 7s and 8 they put you on the west transition. I've done it in the 172 a couple times, really cool! Also all those targets at 16:51 are VFR guys in the practice area most likely from Chandler or Gateway

I can't claim to understand much of this stuff, but it is very impressive to watch someone operate and navigate a highly complex machine through a nightmare of jargon, numbers, potentially lethal landmarks and other aircraft in such a calm and disciplined way. Please don't give me any analogies about Swans on water, it would spoil the illusion. I came across you by random chance and I think I have now watched every single video you have. It really is quite engrossing. Happy flying. :)

Great Video as usual. I like this video, as its just a segment, instead of "whole" flight.It would have been neat to freeze frame for a second to show how close the other plane was. For all you Barrett Jackson fans, great shot of West-world from 26:27 .Big arched buildings right screen. Scottsdale, Where P1D is flying into, is how far they tow the private jets like Citations & Premiers from, on the city streets to put them on display for the event.
@gregmink8 жыл бұрын
+BubbavilleFireUnit Good info. I always wondered where that was. I prefer the segments of a flight as well because they are easier to edit. The fan base was calling for whole flights so I gave them a few and they were well received. I'm now just trying to keep the content interesting. As for freeze frame, that is a good idea. On the next near collision I'll do that. :-)
